Morris Trachsler
Morris Trachsler (born 15 July 1984) is a retired Swiss professional ice hockey player and the current CFO of Seervision AG. Playing career He participated at the 2010 IIHF World Championship as a member of the Switzerland men's national ice hockey team. He won a total of 104 caps for the Swiss team. At the club level, he played for the GC Küsnacht Lions in the National League B, the ZSC Lions, Genève-Servette HC and again the ZSC Lions in the National League A (NLA). In 2014, he captured the Swiss championship with the Lions. On May 8, 2017, Trachsler left the Lions for their biggest rival, EHC Kloten, on a 2-year deal, but parted ways with the club after the conclusion of the 2017-18 season. He announced his retirement in November 2018. Point (ice Hockey)
In ice hockey, point has three contemporary meanings. Personal stat A point is awarded to a player for each goal scored or assist earned. The total number of goals plus assists equals total points. The Art Ross Trophy is awarded to the National Hockey League (NHL) player who leads the league in scoring points at the end of the regular season. Team stat Points are also awarded to assess standings (or rankings). Historically, teams were awarded two points for each win, one point for each tie and no points for a loss. Such a ranking system, implemented primarily to ensure a tie counted as a "half-win" for each team in the standings, is generally regarded as British and/or European in origin and as such adopted by the National Hockey League which was founded in Canada where leagues generally used ranking systems of British origin. 2009–10 NLA Season
The 2009–10 National League A season was the third ice hockey season of the National League A since the reorganization of the Swiss league. Prior to the season, no promotion and relegation occurred between the National League A and National League B as a result of NLA club Biel's victory over Lausanne in the prior season's relegation playoff. Format The regular season schedule consists of a double round-robin, each of the league's twelve teams playing the other eleven four times apiece, twice at home and twice on the road. Each team plays an additional six games against three opponents, which are schedules based upon the previous season's standings. At the conclusion of the regular season, the top eight teams are entered into the playoffs; the bottom four enter a relegation playoff, commonly called the playout. The 2007–08 National League A season, was the first ice hockey season of the National League A since the reorganization of the Swiss league and the 70th in the history of Swiss professional hockey. 2006–07 National League A Season
The 2006–07 NLA season was the 69th regular season of the Nationalliga A (NLA), the main professional ice hockey league in Switzerland. New Rules There are a few changes of rules for the new season. 3-Point System For the first time an NLA season is run with a 3-point system. A team gets now 3 points for a win after 60 minutes, instead of 2. Overtime A tied game after 60 minutes results in an overtime of 5 minutes, which is played 4 vs. 4 (this is not a rule change). But now, if a team scores a goal it gets two points while the other team also gets a point. Penalty Shootout If the game still remains tied after the overtime, there will be a penalty shootout with 3 shots per team. The winner team will get two points and the other team one point.
