Haiti
Haiti, officially the Republic of Haiti, is a country on the island of Hispaniola in the Caribbean Sea, east of Cuba and Jamaica, and south of the Bahamas. It occupies the western three-eighths of the island, which it shares with the Dominican Republic. Pic Macaya
Pic Macaya (Macaya Peak) is the second-highest mountain in Haiti (after Pic la Selle), rising to an elevation of above sea level. It is located in the Massif de la Hotte, northwest of Les Cayes and west of Port-au-Prince. The mountain is located in the Pic Macaya National Park. Morne du Cibao is the third highest mountain in Haiti, after Pic la Selle and Pic Macaya. It is the highest point in the Montagnes du Cibao, and rises to an elevation of above sea level.Schutt-Ainé, p. 20 The name ''Cibao'' used in this article is likely a historical cartographic mistake, as this name is not used locally (although it is the name of a region in the neighboring Dominican Republic). This mountain is locally known, in Haitian Kreyòl as ''Tèt Kabayo''. The name ''Kabayo'' likely derives from the Spanish ''Caballo'', meaning horse.
