Morgan Newberry
Morgan Newberry (born 28 May 1999) is a British para-cyclist who competes in road and track events. Career In 2019, Newberry joined Sarah Storeys' ŠKODA DSI Cycling Academy. In February 2024, Newberry competed at the 2024 British National Track Championships and won a bronze medal in the individual pursuit C1–5 event. She helped design a prosthetic arm to aid in balance and stability for riders with below elbow limb differences. C5 (classification)
C5 is a para-cycling classification. The Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI) recommends this be coded as MC5 or WC5. Definition PBS defined this classification as "Cyclists with least impairment, including single amputation and minimal neurological disfunction." Classification history Cycling first became a Paralympic sport at the 1988 Summer Paralympics. In September 2006, governance for para-cycling passed from the International Paralympic Committee's International Cycling Committee to UCI at a meeting in Switzerland. Dame Sarah Joanne Storey (née Bailey; born 26 October 1977) is a British cyclist and swimmer, a multiple gold medallist in the Paralympic Games, and six times British (able-bodied) national track champion (2 × Pursuit, 1 × Points, 3 × Team Pursuit). Her total of 30 Paralympic medals, including 19 gold medals, makes her the most successful (by gold medals) and most decorated (by total medals) British Paralympian of all time as well as one of the most decorated Paralympic athletes of all time.
