The Morehead State Eagles are the athletic teams that represent Morehead State University (MSU), located in Morehead, Kentucky, United States, in intercollegiate sports as a member of the NCAA Division I ranks (for football, the Football Championship Subdivision), primarily competing in the Ohio Valley Conference (OVC) since the 1948–49 academic year; while its football team competes in the Pioneer Football League (PFL). The Eagles previously competed in the Kentucky Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (KIAC; now currently known as the River States Conference (RSC) since the 2016–17 school year) of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) from 1933–34 to 1947–48; and in the defunct West Virginia Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WVIAC) from 1929–30 to 1932–33. Morehead State University (MSU) is a public university in Morehead, Kentucky, United States. The university began as Morehead Normal School, which opened its doors in 1887. The Craft Academy for Excellence in Science and Mathematics, a two-year residential early college high school on the university's campus, was established in 2014. Morehead State Bowling
Dating back to the mid-1960s, with intercollegiate competition beginning in 1977, bowling at Morehead State University is a club sport and is affiliated with the collegiate division of the United States Bowling Congress. Facility The Larry Wilson University Lanes, built in 1967, are housed in the Laughlin Health Building on the campus of Morehead State University. The six-lane center, open to the campus community, serves as the practice facility for the MSU bowling teams. During the 2006-2007 academic year, the center was completely remodeled. The lanes are now equipped with Brunswick A-2 pin spotters and were resurfaced with the state-of-the-art Kegel Edge synthetic lane surface. The quarterback (QB) is a position in gridiron football who are members of the offensive side of the ball and mostly line up directly behind the Lineman (football), offensive line. Phil Simms
Phillip Martin Simms (born November 3, 1955) is an American former professional football quarterback who played in the National Football League (NFL) for 14 seasons with the New York Giants. After playing college football for the Morehead State Eagles, Simms was selected in the first round by the Giants as the seventh overall pick in the 1979 NFL draft. Simms was named Most Valuable Player (MVP) of Super Bowl XXI, after he led the Giants to a 39–20 victory over the Denver Broncos and set the record for highest completion percentage in a Super Bowl, completing 22 of 25 passes (88%), as well as the highest passer rating in a Super Bowl at 150.9; both of these records still stand. Karam Mashour
Karam Mashour (, ; born 9 August 1991) is an Arab-Israeli professional basketball player for Maccabi Ramat Gan of the Israeli Basketball Premier League. He played college basketball for the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV) and Morehead State University, before playing professionally in Israel and France. In 2016–17, he was the top rebounder in the Israel Basketball Premier League. Early life Mashour was born in Nazareth, Israel, to an Arab-Christian family. Kenneth Bernard Faried Lewis ( ; born November 19, 1989) is an American professional basketball player for Pallacanestro Reggiana of the Italian Lega Basket Serie A (LBA). The 2016 College Basketball Invitational (CBI) was a single-elimination tournament of 16 National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division I teams that did not participate in the NCAA Tournament or the NIT.
