Morbid Fascination Of Death
''Morbid Fascination of Death'' is the third studio album by the Norwegian black metal band Carpathian Forest. It was released in 2001 by Avantgarde Music, and it was the last album to feature guitarist and founding member Johnny "Nordavind" Krøvel on the band's line-up. It was also their last studio album to be released by Avantgarde before they switched to Season of Mist. It was re-released in 2007 by Peaceville Records under digipack form, with two bonus tracks. The track "Carpathian Forest" is a re-recorded version of the eponymous track present in their debut EP, '' Through Chasm, Caves and Titan Woods''. Carpathian Forest
Carpathian Forest is a Norwegian black metal band formed by Nattefrost and Nordavind in 1992. They are known for their unique style of black metal, often categorised as black 'n' roll and includes a prominent, clanky bass tone and lyrics that revolve around BDSM, perversion, misanthropy, death and suicide. History In late 1990, the band originally started under the name Enthrone by Nattefrost (then bearing the pseudonym Lord Nosferatu) and Nordavind (who used the pseudonym Lord Karnstein). Together they produced a self-released demo tape, ''Black Winds'', in 1991. In 1992, Enthrone changed its name to "Carpathian Forest", and Lord Blackmangler and Damnatus joined their line-up. Terje Vik Schei (born 7 July 1974), better known by his stage name Tchort, is a Norwegian musician. He is known for his time spent playing bass for the black metal band Emperor and for leading the progressive metal band Green Carnation. He has also played with Carpathian Forest and Blood Red Throne, Satyricon and Einherjer. Tchort is known to be married and to have a son and a daughter. Daniel Salte (born 29 January 1974), better known by his stage name Vrangsinn, is a Norwegian musician, poet, painter and graphic artist, best known as the bassist of black metal band Carpathian Forest (1999–2014; 2019–present). Biography Vrangsinn joined Norwegian black metal band Carpathian Forest in 1999. He departed the band in 2014, before rejoining in 2019. Vrangsinn is known for his bizarre stage stunts while performing live with Carpathian Forest. In addition to his musical career, he is an active poet, painter, and has created art in other forms such as concrete art, jewelry, steel crosses and pentagrams. Jørn Stubberud (born 13 April 1968) is a Norwegian musician best known as the bassist in the black metal band Mayhem under the stage name Necrobutcher. He is one of Mayhem's founding members, along with Euronymous and Manheim. He is the band's only remaining original member, as Messiah and Manheim left Mayhem, respectively, in 1986 and 1988, and Euronymous was murdered in 1993. He has also played in other bands, including L.E.G.O., Kvikksølvguttene, Bloodthorn (guest artist), and Checker Patrol. Øystein Aarseth (22 March 1968 – 10 August 1993), better known by his stage name Euronymous, was a Norwegian musician and a founder of and central figure in the early Norwegian black metal scene.
