A hydrothermal vent is a fissure on the seabed from which geothermally heated water discharges. They are commonly found near volcanically active places, areas where tectonic plates are moving apart at mid-ocean ridges, ocean basins, and hotspots. Hydrothermal deposits are rocks and mineral ore deposits formed by the action of hydrothermal vents. Zoarcidae
The eelpouts are the ray-finned fish family Zoarcidae. As the common name suggests, they are somewhat eel-like in appearance. All of the roughly 300 species are marine and mostly bottom-dwelling, some at great depths. Eelpouts are predominantly found in the Northern Hemisphere. The arctic, north pacific and north Atlantic oceans have the highest concentration of species, however species are found around the globe. František Moravec (born 1 January 1939) is a Czech parasitologist who specialises on the Nematodes, especially the nematodes fish parasites, parasites of fishes. His research is mainly in the field of taxonomy (biology), taxonomy of the Nematoda. Education and career Moravec was born on 1 January 1939 in Velká Bystřice. He was in high school in Olomouc then was a student in the Masaryk University in Brno, Czech Republic (at that time Czechoslovakia). For his Masters in 1962, he studied the parasitic worms of reptiles of Czechoslovakia.
