Morava Valley
The Morava Valley ( / ''Pomoravlje'', ), is a general term which in its widest sense marks valleys of any of three Morava rivers in Serbia: the West Morava ( West Morava Valley), the South Morava ( South Morava Valley) and the Great Morava ( Great Morava Valley). In the narrow sense, the term is applied only to the Great Morava Valley ( / ''Veliko Pomoravlje''). The Serbian term follows the general manner of coining river valley names in Serbian using the prefix ''po-'' and suffix ''-je'', meaning literally "(land) along the Morava". Morava valley lies in the central Balkans, at the crossroads which lead eastwards, towards the Black Sea and Asia Minor, and further south, down the Vardar River into the Aegean Sea. Lower Morava Valley
The Lower Morava Valley (; ; ) is a geomorphological formation (special type of valley) in the Czech Republic and Slovakia. It is formed by the depression in the Western Carpathians (Ždánice Forest, Kyjov Hills and Pálava Protected Landscape Area, Mikulov Hills) in the west and Bílé Karpaty and Chvojnice Hills in the east. The drainage to the Morava (river), Morava River of the Danube basin runs finally to the Black Sea. It includes the low drainage divide, watershed of the Dyje-Morava in Lanžhot. Kraljevo ( sr-Cyrl, Краљево, ) is a List of cities in Serbia, city and the administrative center of the Raška District in central Serbia. Maljen
Maljen () () is a mountain in western Serbia, just south of the city of Valjevo. It is well known as a summer and winter resort. The highest peak is Kraljev Sto, at above sea level, followed by Crni Vrh at . On Maljen is situated resort Divčibare with 3 hotels, 24 holiday camps, two mountain lodges and two ski trails. During summer the slopes of the mountain are covered with flower meadows with white daffodils. After the successful 21st century program of brown bears protection on the Tara mountain, some to the southwest, by the 2020s bears re-appeared on the Maljen, too. Suvobor
Suvobor (Serbian Cyrillic: Сувобор) is a mountain in central Serbia, near the town of Gornji Milanovac. Its highest peak ''Suvobor'' has an elevation of above sea level. The northwestern part of Suvobor is called Rajac (847 m ) and is generally developed the best for tourism. History Suvobor and Rajac were the site of Battle of Kolubara of the World War I in December 1914. In World War II, Suvobor was a stronghold of Chetnik movement, and their leader Draža Mihailović had the main headquarters at Ravna Gora. Goč
Goč ( sr-cyrl, Гоч) is a mountain in central Serbia, about 15 km south of the spa town of Vrnjačka Banja. It belongs to the northern part of the Kopaonik mountain range and its highest peak, ''Krnja jela'' ( sr-cyrl, Крња јела), has an elevation of . Goč is a popular hiking and mountaineering destination and the village Goč is a small ski resort. The skiing area is equipped with a single-seater ski lift and the longest slope is 1,500 m long and 40 m wide. Jelica
Jelica ( sr-cyrl, Јелица) is a mountain in central Serbia, near the towns of Guča and Čačak. Its highest peak, ''Crna Stena'', has an elevation of 929 meters above sea level. Gradina on Jelica is an archaeological site, with the remains of a fortified settlement. The oldest artefacts found date from the 7th century BC. Zlatibor
Zlatibor ( sr-cyr, Златибoр ) is a List of mountains of Serbia, mountainous region in western Serbia. Among the most popular places in Serbia for tourism, Zlatibor's main attractions include health tourism, skiing, and hiking and the longest panoramic gondola lift in the world. Tara Mountain
Tara ( sr-Cyrl, Тара, ) is a mountain in western Serbia. It is part of the Dinaric Alps and stands at above sea level. The mountain's slopes are clad in dense forests with numerous high-elevation clearings and meadows, steep cliffs, deep ravines carved by the nearby Drina River, and many karst caves. The mountain is a popular tourist centre. Tara National Park encompasses a large part of the mountain. The highest peak is Zborište, at . Rasina (river)
The Rasina () is a river in south central Serbia. The long river flows through the Serbian Rasina region, gives its name to the modern Rasina District of Serbia, and flows into the Zapadna Morava near the city of Kruševac. Its historical name is Arsen (Αρσεγα). The Rasina springs from the southern slopes of the Goč mountain, near the village of Rašovka, southwest of the most famous Serbian destination spa, spa, Vrnjačka Banja. The river originally flows to the southeast, around the mountains of Željin and Kopaonik, next to the villages of Mitrovo Polje, Bzenica, Pleš, Jablanica, Grčak, Toskići, Budilovina and Milentija. Đetinja
Đetinja ( sr-Cyrl, Ђетиња; ) is a river in western Serbia, a long natural but shorter headstream of the Zapadna Morava River. The Đetinja river valley serves as a route for the Belgrade- Bar railway. Name According to the legend which describes how the Đetinja River got its name, the Ottoman Turks in the times when they ruled these lands, once punished the local Užican people by taking their children and brutally throwing them into the river. Thus the river was named ''Đetinja rijeka'', which in Užican dialect means ''the children's river''. Later ''rijeka'' (''river'') was just dropped out of the river name, leaving only ''Đetinja'' (meaning ''children's''). However, the name probably originates from the old name Cetina, which meant "Horse river" and even today, one of the streams which form Đetinja is called Konjska reka (Serbian for Horse river).
