Morava Peak
Morava Peak ( bg, връх Морава, vrah Morava, ) is the peak rising to 966 m in the northeast extremity of Trakiya Heights on Trinity Peninsula, Antarctic Peninsula. Situated 1.72 km northeast of Mount Daimler, 4.94 km east of Irakli Peak and 6.1 km south-southwest of Gigen Peak. Surmounting Russell East Glacier to the north and east. Trakiya Heights
The Trakiya Heights ( bg, Тракийски възвишения, ‘Trakiyski Vazvisheniya’ \tra-'kiy-ski v&z-vi-'she-ni-ya\) are the heights rising to (Irakli Peak) on Trinity Peninsula, Antarctic Peninsula. The heights are bounded by Russell West Glacier to the north, Srem Gap and Russell East Glacier to the northeast, Victory Glacier to the southwest and Zlidol Gate to the northwest. The heights surmount Prince Gustav Channel, Weddell Sea to the southeast. The heights extend in northwest-southeast direction and in northeast-southwest direction. Trinity Peninsula
Trinity Peninsula is the northernmost part of the Antarctic Peninsula. It extends northeastward for about 130 km (80 mi) to Cape Dubouzet from an imaginary line connecting Cape Kater on the north-west coast and Cape Longing on the south-east coast. Prime Head is the northernmost point of this peninsula. Some 20 kilometers southeast of Prime Head is Hope Bay with the year-round Argentinian Esperanza Base. History It was first sighted on 30 January 1820 by Edward Bransfield, Master, Royal Navy, immediately after his charting of the newly discovered South Shetland Islands nearby. Antarctic Peninsula
The Antarctic Peninsula, known as O'Higgins Land in Chile and Tierra de San Martín in Argentina, and originally as Graham Land in the United Kingdom and the Palmer Peninsula in the United States, is the northernmost part of mainland Antarctica. The Antarctic Peninsula is part of the larger peninsula of West Antarctica, protruding from a line between Cape Adams (Weddell Sea) and a point on the mainland south of the Eklund Islands. Beneath the ice sheet that covers it, the Antarctic Peninsula consists of a string of bedrock islands; these are separated by deep channels whose bottoms lie at depths considerably below current sea level. Russell East Glacier
Russell East Glacier () is a glacier, 6 nautical miles (11 km) long and 3 nautical miles (6 km) wide, which lies at the north end of Detroit Plateau and flows from Mount Canicula and Verdikal Gap along the south slopes of Erul Heights eastward into Smokinya Cove in Prince Gustav Channel on the south side of Trinity Peninsula. This glacier together with Russell West Glacier, which flows westward into Bone Bay on the north side of Trinity Peninsula, form a through glacier across the north part of Antarctic Peninsula. Antarctic Place-names Commission
The Antarctic Place-names Commission was established by the Bulgarian Antarctic Institute in 1994, and since 2001 has been a body affiliated with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Bulgaria. The Commission approves Bulgarian place names in Antarctica, which are formally given by the President of the Republic according to the Bulgarian Constitution (Art. 98) and the established international practice.
