The Moorabbin Football Club, nicknamed the Kangaroos, was an Australian rules football club best known for its premiership success in the Victorian Football Association (VFA) during the 1950s and 1960s. During their time in the VFA, the club played its home matches at Moorabbin Oval and wore blue and white hooped guernseys. A grand final replay was a method of deciding the winner of a competition when a grand final is drawn. It is commonly used in football codes, particularly in Australian rules football. It was most notably used in the Australian Football League on three occasions—most recently in 2010—prior to its abolition in 2016. The 1964 Victorian Football Association season was the 83rd season of the top division of the Australian rules football competition, and the fourth season of its second division. The Division 1 premiership was won by the Port Melbourne Football Club, after it defeated Williamstown in the Grand Final on 26 September by 36 points; it was Port Melbourne's 8th VFA premiership. The City of Moorabbin was a local government area about southeast of Melbourne, the state capital of Victoria, Australia. The city covered an area of , and existed from 1862 until 1994. History Moorabbin was first incorporated as a road district on 16 May 1862. Graham Dunscombe (7 July 1924 – 13 September 2020) was an Australian rules footballer who played for North Melbourne in the Victorian Football League (VFL). Family The son of Charles Ernest Kingsman Dunscombe (1891–1978), and Rose Susannah Dunscombe (1892–1984), née Graham, Graham Dunscombe was born at Thornbury, Victoria on 7 July 1924. He married Phyllis Ida "Peggy" Stewart in 1954, and they had two children, Roger, and Pamela. Military service Prior to his football career, Dunscombe served in Papua New Guinea with the Australian Army during World War II.
