Moonshadow (song)
"Moonshadow" is a song written and performed by Cat Stevens (known since 1978 as Yusuf Islam), first released as a single in the UK in 1970 on the Island label and in the US in 1971 on the A&M label. It also appears on Stevens' 1971 album ''Teaser and the Firecat''. History Stevens considers this his favourite of his old songs. When Yusuf appeared on '' The Chris Isaak Hour'' in 2009, he said of this song: "I was on a holiday in Spain. I was a kid from the West End f London– bright lights, et cetera. I never got to see the moon on its own in the dark, there were always streetlamps. So there I was on the edge of the water on a beautiful night with the moon glowing, and suddenly I looked down and saw my shadow. I thought that was so cool, I'd never seen it before." Moon Shadow (born March 28, 1979) is an American singer and professional wrestling personality who uses the stage name Goldylocks or Goldy Locks. She is perhaps best known for her appearances with Total Nonstop Action Wrestling as an interviewer and manager. Early life Shadow was born to middle-class parents in a suburban neighborhood in North Minneapolis, Minnesota. Her father, a talented musician, taught her how to play the guitar, keyboard and violin. She is a Catholic. Musical career By 1999, Shadow was an opening act for artists like Pink. In 2000, Futuristic Records released her single "Kiss", a song she wrote and recorded in English, French, and Spanish. ''Dragonwings'' is a children's historical novel by Laurence Yep, published by Harper & Row in 1975. It inaugurated the ''Golden Mountain Chronicles'' (below) and it is the fifth chronicle in narrative sequence among ten published as of 2012. The book is used in school classrooms and has been adapted as a play under its original title. Yep and ''Dragonwings'' won the Phoenix Award from the Children's Literature Association in 1995, recognizing the best children's book published twenty years earlier that did not win a major award. ''PS238'' is an American comic book written and drawn by Aaron Williams and published by Do Gooder Press. It follows the lives of both teachers and students at an elementary school for children with super powers, which the comic calls metaprodigies. It was also adapted into a role-playing game by Hero Games, using their '' Champions'' game system. Publication History Issue #0 was published in November 2002. Until issue #20 it was published by Dork Storm Press and Henchman Publishing. In December 2006, Aaron Williams started posting the comic page by page on his website. ''Moon Shadow'' is the second album by American singing trio Labelle. This release was their second and last album for Warner Bros. Records. The album is notable for their soulful rendition of The Who's "Won't Get Fooled Again", the socially conscious "I Believe That I've Finally Made It Home" (a song which members Patti LaBelle, Nona Hendryx and Sarah Dash share lead vocals) and the nine-minute title track in which Patti introduces all the musicians as they do their live solos. It was entered into the 45th Berlin International Film Festival where it won an Honourable Mention. Plot Lorenzo, an astrophysicist, has inherited a house in Sicily. "Moonlight Shadow" is a song written and performed by English multi-instrumentalist Mike Oldfield, released as a single in May 1983 by Virgin Records, and included on his eighth album, ''Crises'', of the same year. The vocals were performed by Scottish vocalist Maggie Reilly, who had collaborated with Mike Oldfield since 1980. It is Oldfield's most successful single, reaching number one on a number of charts around Europe.
