''Moonfleet'' is a British period television drama series which aired on Sky One in 2013. It is based on the classic 1898 adventure novel '' Moonfleet'' by J. Meade Falkner, about smuggling on the Dorset coast in the eighteenth century. Location shooting took place in Ireland. Moonfleet (novel)
''Moonfleet'' is an 1898 adventure fiction, adventure and historical novel written by English writer J. Meade Falkner. The plot is an adventure tale of smuggling, treasure, and shipwreck set in 18th-century England. Plot summary In 1757 Moonfleet is a small village along the coast of southern England. The village takes its name from a formerly prominent local family, the Mohunes. The main character is John Trenchard, an orphan who lives with his aunt, Miss Jane Arnold. The village church includes the sexton (office), sexton, Mr. Ratsey, and Parson Glennie, who also teaches in the village school. Elzevir Block is the landlord of the ''Mohune Arms''. The inn is nicknamed the ''Why Not?'', a pun on the Mohune coat of arms, which includes a ''pall (heraldry), cross-pall'' in the shape of the letter "Y". Nicholas Robin Frank Woodeson (born 30 November 1949) is an English film, television and theatre actor, and Drama Desk and Olivier award nominee. Early life and education Woodeson was born in Sudan and grew up in Haifa, Israel. He later moved to England, where he started performing at prep school in Sussex, and Marlborough College. He read English at the University of Sussex,and became involved in student drama productions, where he met Michael Attenborough, Jim Carter, and Andy de la Tour. Martin Trenaman
Martin Trenaman (born 1962) is an English comedy writer and actor, who has contributed to many modern comedy series. He played Simon's father, Alan Cooper, in the sitcom ''The Inbetweeners'' (2008-10). He reprised the role of Mr. Cooper for the subsequent Inbetweeners films released in 2011 and 2014. Omid Djalili (; born 30 September 1965) is a British comedian, actor, and writer. Early life and education Djalili was born on 30 September 1965 in St Mary Abbots Hospital in Kensington, London, to Iranian Baháʼí parents Ahmad and Parvaneh Djalili. Frank O'Sullivan (actor)
Frank O'Sullivan (born 1954) is an Irish retired hurler who played as a goalkeeper for the Cork senior team. Born in Blackpool, Cork, O'Sullivan first arrived on the inter-county scene at the age of seventeen when he first linked up with the Cork minor team before later joining the under-21 side. He joined the senior panel during the 1986 championship. O'Sullivan was largely an unused substitute during his career, however, he did win one All-Ireland medal and one Munster medal as a non-playing substitute. At club level O'Sullivan is a one-time All-Ireland medallist with Glen Rovers. In addition to this he also won one Munster medals and one championship medal.
