Monya Rowe
The Monya Rowe Gallery is a contemporary art gallery in New York City owned and curated by Monya Rowe. History Monya Rowe opened her first 200 square-foot contemporary art gallery on the south side of Williamsburg, Brooklyn in 2003. The first exhibition was reviewed in '' The New York Times'' by Roberta Smith where she called it "possibly the smallest white cube in the New York art world". The gallery has occupied locations in Chelsea, the Lower East Side and Florida. The gallery has given many up-and-coming artists their first New York solo exhibition. Some artists include: Larissa Bates, Angela Dufresne, Josephine Halvorson, Vera Iliatova, Jacolby Satterwhite, Devin Troy Strother and Ann Toebbe. Williamsburg, Brooklyn
Williamsburg is a neighborhood in the New York City borough of Brooklyn, bordered by Greenpoint to the north; Bedford–Stuyvesant to the south; Bushwick and East Williamsburg to the east; and the East River to the west. Angela Dufresne
Angela Dufresne (born 1969) is a Brooklyn based. American artist known for paintings that explore narrative in a variety of ways. Dufresne holds a BFA from Kansas City Art Institute, MO and an MFA from Tyler School of Art, Philadelphia, PA. She is currently faculty at the Rhode Island School of Design. Josephine Halvorson
Josephine Halvorson (born 1981) is an American contemporary painter, sculptor, and print maker based in Massachusetts. She is best known for her on-site paintings, drawing from scenes of the natural world and everyday life. Her work bends material fact and immaterial illusion. Halvorson is a Professor of Art and Chair of Graduate Studies in Painting at Boston University. Early life and education Josephine Halvorson was born and raised in Brewster, Massachusetts. Her mother and father were artists who worked across mediums. As a child, Halvorson spent time in her parents’ metal and blacksmithing shop. Ann Toebbe (born 1974) is an American contemporary artist who has had solo exhibitions at the Museum of Contemporary Art, Chicago, The Saatchi Gallery (London, UK), Steven Zevitas Gallery (Boston, MA, represented), Monya Rowe Gallery (New York City), and Tibor de Nagy Gallery (New York City, represented). Based in Chicago, she is best known for creating meticulously designed paintings and collages that depict the interiors of domestic life. Nayland Blake
Nayland is a village and former civil parish in the Stour Valley on the Suffolk side of the border between Suffolk and Essex in England. In 2011 the built-up area had a population of 938. In 1881 the civil parish had a population of 901. History ''From an article by Rosemary Knox, Wissington'' Nayland village and the adjoining rural hamlet of Wissington (these days usually called 'Wiston'), were originally two separate parishes; in 1883 they were united into one civil parish, Nayland-with-Wissington, although the two ecclesiastical parishes remain separate. Paul Schrader
Paul Joseph Schrader (; born July 22, 1946) is an American screenwriter, film director, and film critic. He first received widespread recognition through his screenplay for Martin Scorsese's ''Taxi Driver'' (1976).
