Medeglia
Medeglia is a village and a former municipality in the district of Bellinzona in the canton of Ticino in Switzerland. On 21 November 2010, the former municipalities of Medeglia, Bironico, Camignolo, Rivera and Sigirino merged in the new municipality of Monteceneri. History Medeglia is first mentioned in 1195 as ''Medellia''. It can be assumed that in the High Middle Ages, Medeglia was part of the old valley community of Carvina. In 1501-03 changed area around Isone, Medeglia and Lugano became part of the county of Bellinzona, but remained in the Agno parish. It became part of the parish of Bironico in the 13th century. Then, in 1585, it broke away from that parish to become a vice parish. It was raised to a full parish in 1888. The parish church of St. Bartholomew was first mentioned in 1328. Swisstopo is the official name for the Swiss Federal Office of Topography (in German: ''Bundesamt für Landestopografie''; French: ''Office fédéral de topographie''; Italian: ''Ufficio federale di topografia''; Romansh: ''Uffizi federal da topografia''), Switzerland's national mapping agency. Lugano Prealps
The Lugano Prealps (''Prealpi Luganesi'' or ''Prealpi Lombarde Occidentali'' in Italian) are a mountain range in the western part of the Alps. They are located in Canton Ticino (southern Switzerland) and in Lombardy (northern Italy). Geography Administratively the Italian part of the range belongs to the provinces of Como and Varese, while the Swiss one is divided between the districts of Bellinzona, Locarno, Lugano and Mendrisio. Isone is a municipality in the district of Bellinzona in the canton of Ticino in Switzerland. Isone is mainly known for being the location of the grenadier school (Grenadierschule) of the Swiss Army. Val Colla
The Val Colla is a valley and a quarter of the city of Lugano in the Swiss canton of Ticino, to the north-east of the city of Lugano. It includes the localities of Bogno, Valcolla, Certara, Cimadera, Sonvico, which are all part of the city of Lugano, and the municipality of Capriasca.
