Montauk Project (book)
''The Montauk Project: Experiments in Time'' by Preston B. Nichols and Peter Moon, published in 1992, is the first book in a series depicting time travel experiments at the Montauk Air Force Base at the eastern tip of Long Island. It is considered the progenitor of the "Montauk Project" conspiracy theory. Overview The 1992 book and its follow up books are written in a first person style. The real photographs of the base and crude drawings of the project electronics in the book contribute to the authentic feel. Using a time travel theme, the characters alter history with visits to Jesus Christ, as well as altering the outcome of American Civil War and World War II battles. The authors claim the book is based on their recovery of repressed childhood memories of being abducted and experimented on against their will. The Montauk Project is a conspiracy theory that alleges there were a series of United States government projects conducted at Camp Hero or Montauk Air Force Station in Montauk, New York, for the purpose of developing psychological warfare techniques and exotic research including time travel. The story of the Montauk Project originated in the ''Montauk Project'' series of books by Preston Nichols which intermixes those stories with stories about the Bulgarian Experiment. Origin Stories about the Montauk Project have circulated since the early 1980s. According to UFO researcher Jacques Vallée, the Montauk Experiment stories seem to have originated with the highly questionable account of Preston Nichols and Al Bielek, who both claimed to have recovered repressed memories of their own involvement. Teleportation
Teleportation is the hypothetical transfer of matter or energy from one point to another without traversing the physical space between them. It is a common subject in science fiction and fantasy literature. Teleportation is often paired with time travel, being that the traveling between the two points takes an unknown period of time, sometimes being immediate. An apport is a similar phenomenon featured in parapsychology and spiritualism. There is no known physical mechanism that would allow for teleportation. Camp Hero State Park is a state park located on Montauk Point, New York. The park occupies a portion of the former Montauk Air Force Station. History Military use The site known as Camp Hero, or the Montauk Air Force Station, was initially commissioned by the U.S. Army in 1942.
