Montana Highway 67 (MT 67) is a state highway in the US state of Montana. The southern terminus is at an intersection with I-15 Business Loop (I-15 BL) and U.S. Route 2 (US 2) in Shelby, and the northern terminus is at Interstate 15 (I-15) on the north side of town. Route description MT 67 starts at an intersection with I-15 Bus./US 2 in Shelby and proceeds in a generally northerly direction along Oilfield Avenue, running concurrently with I-15 BL. Shelby, Montana
Shelby is a city in and the county seat of Toole County, Montana, United States. The population was 3,169 at the 2020 census. History Shelby was named in honor of Peter O. Shelby, General Manager of the Montana Central Railway. A railroad station was established here about 1892, at the junction of the Great Northern Railway and the Great Falls & Canada Railway. On July 4, 1923, the town hosted a heavyweight boxing match between Jack Dempsey and Tommy Gibbons for the undisputed world Heavyweight boxing championship title. This event almost bankrupted the town of Shelby. In the early 2000s the town hosted a dog camp named Camp Collie to help mistreated dogs that made national news. Toole County is a county in the northern portion of the U.S. state of Montana. As of the 2020 census, the population was 4,971. Its county seat is Shelby. The county was established in 1914 from parts of Hill County and Teton County and was named after Joseph Toole, the first and fourth governor of Montana. Its northern boundary is the Canada–United States border south of Alberta. Geography According to the United States Census Bureau, the county has a total area of , of which is land and (1.5%) is water. Its northern boundary is the Canada–United States border. A concurrency in a road network is an instance of one physical roadway bearing two or more different route numbers. When two roadways share the same right-of-way, it is sometimes called a common section or commons. Other terminology for a concurrency includes overlap, coincidence, duplex (two concurrent routes), triplex (three concurrent routes), multiplex (any number of concurrent routes), dual routing or triple routing. A diamond interchange is a common type of road junction, used where a controlled-access highway crosses a minor road. Design The freeway itself is grade-separated from the minor road, one crossing the other over a bridge. Approaching the interchange from either direction, an off-ramp diverges only slightly from the freeway and runs directly across the minor road, becoming an on-ramp that returns to the freeway in similar fashion.
