Monsters (2010 Film)
''Monsters'' is a 2010 British science-fiction horror film written and directed by Gareth Edwards (in his feature directorial debut). Edwards also served as the cinematographer, production designer, and a visual effects artist. The film takes place years after a NASA probe crashed in Mexico, which leads to the sudden appearance of giant tentacled monsters. It follows Andrew Kaulder ( Scoot McNairy), an American photojournalist tasked with escorting his employer's daughter Samantha Wynden ( Whitney Able) back to the United States by crossing through Mexico's "Infected Zone", where the creatures reside. Edwards conceived the idea for the film after seeing fishermen attempt to bring a creature in with a net, and imagining a monster inside. Gareth James Edwards (born 13 July 1975) is a British filmmaker. His accolades include three British Independent Film Awards and nominations for the British Academy Film Awards and Primetime Emmy Awards. Edwards first gained recognition for ''Monsters (2010 film), Monsters'' (2010), an independent film in which he served as writer, director, cinematographer, and visual effects artist. A prosumer is an individual who both consumes and produces. The term is a portmanteau of the words '' producer'' and ''consumer''. Research has identified six types of prosumers: DIY prosumers, self-service prosumers, customizing prosumers, collaborative prosumers, monetised prosumers, and economic prosumers. ''The Blair Witch Project'' is a 1999 American psychological horror film written, directed, and edited by Daniel Myrick and Eduardo Sánchez. Williams, and Joshua Leonard) hike into the Black Hills near Burkittsville, Maryland, to shoot a documentary about a local myth known as the Blair Witch. Found footage is a cinematic technique and film genre in which all or a substantial part of the work is presented as if it were film or Videocassette recorder, video recordings recorded by characters in the story, and later "found" and presented to the audience.
