Monsieur Bégonia
''Monsieur Bégonia'' is a 1937 French comedy film directed by André Hugon and starring Josette Day, Paul Pauley and Colette Darfeuil. Crisp p.411 The film's sets were designed by the art director Émile Duquesne. It was remade in Italy in 1939 as ''L'amore si fa così''. Synopsis A man applies for the position of general manager at a fashion house but is rejected for being too young. He then disguises himself as a more mature man and calling himself Monsieur Bégonia he gets the job and proceeds to turn round the fortunes of the struggling company. André Hugon
André Hugon (17 December 1886 – 22 August 1960) was a French film director, screenwriter and film producer best known for his silent films from 1913 onwards, particularly of the 1920s and into sound. Hugon was born in Algiers in 1886 which at the time was part of France. He directed some 90 films between 1913 and 1952.
