Maniruzzaman Islamabadi
MunÄ«ruzzamÄn KhÄn IslÄmÄbÄdÄ« (; 1875-1950), also known by the epithet Biplobi Maulana (), was a Bengali philosopher, nationalist activist and journalist from Islamabad (now known as Chittagong) in Bengal Presidency, British India (present-day Bangladesh). He was among the founders of the Jamiat Ulama-e-Hind. Early life Maniruzzaman Khan Islamabadi was born into a Bengali Muslim family in Araliar Char village under Barama union in Patiya Upazila (present Chandanaish Upazila) of Chittagong district. As he became older, he taught at various traditional madrassas. 1971 Dhaka University Massacre
1971 Dhaka University massacre was the mass murder of students and faculty at the University of Dhaka in East Pakistan (present Bangladesh) by the Pakistan Army, at the beginning of what would become the Bangladesh War of Independence. In March 1971, the Pakistan Army Eastern Wing Commander Tikka Khan launched Operation Searchlight on the orders of Yahya Khan to crush the Bengali nationalist movement. As part of the operation, the army launched an assault on the university campus. It is the deadliest attack on a university in history. Mohammad Moniruzzaman Miah ( – June 13, 2016) was a Bangladeshi academic. He served as the 20th vice-chancellor of the University of Dhaka from March 1990 until October 1992. He was awarded Ekushey Padak in 2004 by the Government of Bangladesh for his contribution to education. Education and career Miah completed his master's from the University of Rajshahi. Mohammad Moniruzzaman
Mohammad Moniruzzaman (15 August 1936 – 3 September 2008) was a Bangladeshi writer, poet, professor, freedom fighter and lyricist. Career Moniruzzaman received his BA in 1958 and his MA in 1959 from University of Dhaka. In 1969, he got his Ph.D. on ''Hindu-Muslim relationship in modern Bengali poetry''. He joined the University's Department of Bengali as a teaching advisor in 1959 and became a lecturer in 1962. He became a professor in 1975 and chair of the department in 1978. He was also district governor of the Rotary club (1986-1987) as well as a member of the Asiatic Society of Bangladesh. Talukder Moniruzzaman
Talukder Moniruzzaman (1 July 1938 – 29 December 2019) was a Bangladeshi political scientist. He was inducted as a National Professor by the Government of Bangladesh in 2006. Biography Moniruzzaman was born on 1 July 1938 at Tarakandi in Sirajganj. He was admitted to Dhaka University's political science department in 1956. He completed his graduate and postgraduate studies from there. After obtaining a postgraduate degree from Dhaka University, Moniruzzaman went to Canada in 1963 and was admitted to Queen's University. He returned to his country in 1966 and joined Rajshahi University. He taught there until 1974. Moniruzzaman joined Dhaka University in 1974. He retired from there in 2006. Maniruzzaman, also known as MohÄmmada ManirujjÄmÄna, (; 15 February 1940 – 27 August 2024) was a Bangladeshi linguist. He was a Professor of Linguistics at the University of Chittagong. His publications included 36 (thirty six) authored books and 7 (seven) edited books; his writings included poetry, song lyrics, literary criticism and studies of folklore, as well as linguistics. Al Mohammad Moniruzzaman (; born 25 October 1976) is a Bangladeshi cricketer who has played in two One Day Internationals in 2003. He is now an umpire and stood in matches in the 2016–17 National Cricket League in Bangladesh. He also standing as an on-field umpire in BPL matches since 2015 Bangladesh Premier League.
