Monique Fischer
Monique Moana Fischer (born 19 December 1991) is a New Zealand-born Samoan professional footballer who plays as a midfielder for Italian Serie B club UPC Tavagnacco and the Samoa women's national team. At club level, she previously played in the English FA Women's Super League for Yeovil Town. Club career Fischer played club football for Papatoetoe AFC and represented Auckland Football in the National Women's League (New Zealand) while working as a journalist for TVNZ. After moving to the United Kingdom to pursue a professional football career, she signed for Welsh Premier Women's Football League club Cardiff Met. in 2017. In September 2018, Fischer made her professional debut for Yeovil Town against Tottenham Hotspur in the 2018–19 FA Women's League Cup. Yeovil ( ) is a town and civil parish in the district of South Somerset, England. The population of Yeovil at the last census (2011) was 45,784. More recent estimates show a population of 48,564. It is close to Somerset's southern border with Dorset, from London, south of Bristol, from Sherborne and from Taunton. The 2018–19 FA Women's League Cup was the 8th edition of the FA Women's Super League and FA Women's Championship's league cup competition. It is sponsored by Continental AG, who have sponsored the competition since its creation, and is officially known as the FA Continental Tyres League Cup. All 22 teams of the FA Women's Super League and FA Women's Championship contest the competition - the largest field in the history of the cup. Arsenal are the defending champions. It is one of the largest cities in the southwestern Pacific (along with Jayapura) outside of Australia and New Zealand. The 2015 Pacific Games women's football tournament was the fourth edition of the Pacific Games women's football tournament. The women's football tournament was held in Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea between 6–16 July 2015 as part of the 2015 Pacific Games. The tournament was open to full women's national teams (unlike the men's tournament, which was age-restricted). The 2018–19 FA WSL was the eighth edition of the FA Women's Super League (WSL) since it was formed in 2010.
