Momtazuddin Ahmad
Mawlana Momtazuddin Ahmad (; 1889–1974) was a Bengali Islamic scholar, author and teacher. He is the father of former Prime Minister Moudud Ahmed. Early life and education Momtazuddin Ahmad was born in 1889 to a Bengali Muslim family of Bhuiyans in the village of Manikpur in Noakhali District, Bengal Presidency. His father, Muhammad Jalees Bhuiyan, was a sheikh. After finishing primary school, Ahmad moved to Calcutta and became a student at its Alia Madrasa in 1907. He passed from Jamaat-i-Suwam in 1910 and Jamaat-i-Ula in 1913. In 1916, he graduated in Hadith studies from the madrasa and awarded ''Fakhr al-Muhadditheen'' (Glory of the Hadith scholars). His Hadith teachers were Ishaq Burdwani and Nazir Hasan Deobandi. His other teachers included Lutfur Rahman Burdwani, Abdul Haq Haqqani and Fazl-e-Haq Rampuri. Momtazuddin Ahmed (philosopher)
Momtazuddin Ahmed (; 24 December 1903 – 12 September 1971) was a Bangladeshi philosopher and educationist. Early life and education Ahmed was born to a Bengali Muslim family from Brahmanbaria in the erstwhile Tippera District of eastern Bengal. He studied in Dhaka University and obtained MA in philosophy in 1927. In 1937 he earned his PhD degree in philosophy from University College London. His research for dissertation was on metaphysics and logic under the advisers John Cook Wilson and Bradley Stamp. Career Academia Ahmed began his career as a lecturer at Dhaka University and later became the Head of the Department of Philosophy. Momtazuddin Ahmed (18 January 1935 – 2 June 2019) was a Bangladeshi playwright-actor and educationist. He was also active in the field of culture, performance, literature and other socio-political activities. His theatre activities were mostly in the field of satire. Career Ahmed taught Bengali language, Bengali, Sanskrit, and European drama in several non-government and government colleges for over 32 years. He served as a professor in the department of Bengali, at Jagannath University and a part-time lecturer at the department of Music and Dramatics, at the University of Dhaka. Mohammad Mamtaj Uddin Ahmed
Mohammad Mamtaj Uddin Ahmed, also spelled Momtaz Uddin Ahmed, is a retired Justice of the High Court Division of the Bangladesh Supreme Court. He is a former chairperson of Bangladesh Press Council. Career Ahmed was appointed additional Judge of the High Court Division near the end of the Awami League government term in 2001. Despite the recommendation of the chief justice, Ahmed and other judges appointed by the Awami League government were not made permanent judges of the High Court Division by the newly elected Bangladesh Nationalist Party breaking tradition. Momtaz Uddin (21 September 1946 – 6 June 2003) was a Bangladesh Awami League politician who served as a member of the Jatiya Sangsad representing the Natore-1 constituency.
