Molly Sterling
Molly Sterling (born 8 March 1998) is an Irish singer and songwriter who represented Ireland in the Eurovision Song Contest 2015 with the song " Playing with Numbers". Biography Sterling grew up in Puckane, County Tipperary. She was educated at Kilkenny College and then at St. Andrew's College, Dublin. Career 2011–14: Early beginnings Molly Sterling first came to prominence after winning the Teen Idol contest in November 2011, winning a Popstar Studios recording prize. She won a second-place award for Girl's Vocal Solo at the 2012 Kilkenny Music Festival and supported Runaway GO at a gig in Nenagh Arts Centre on 9 June 2012. Puckane
Puckane, officially Puckaun (), is a village in County Tipperary, Ireland. It is also a parish in the Roman Catholic Diocese of Killaloe. The village is located 10 km north of Nenagh along the R493 and close to Lough Derg and Dromineer. It had a population of 250 people as of the 2016 census. People The songwriter Shane MacGowan spent much of his childhood in the neighbouring townland of Carney and has immortalised a number of local places in his songs such as "The Broad Majestic Shannon". Sunlight (Nicky Byrne Song)
"Sunlight" is the debut solo single by Irish singer Nicky Byrne. The song represented Ireland in the Eurovision Song Contest 2016 held in Stockholm, Sweden after being internally selected by RTÉ, the Irish broadcaster for the Eurovision Song Contest. The song did not qualify for that year's Grand Final, only earning 46 points, managing a 15th place finish in the first semi-final. Composition According to Byrne, "Sunlight" is "essentially a love song and its message is one of positivity. Tomorrow is a new day and the sunlight shining on your face at the start of any new day should make you smile be fresh and to begin again." In producing the song, Byrne would imagine himself walking up a mountain, breaking through clouds in order to catch the view. Nicholas Bernard James Adam Byrne Jr. (born 9 October 1978) is an Irish pop singer, songwriter and radio and television presenter, best known for being a member of the pop group Westlife; he is the band's oldest member. Westlife has since released twelve albums, embarked on thirteen world tours, and won several awards, becoming one of the most successful musical groups of all time. Before his music career, he played professional football, representing Republic of Ireland at several junior levels. Since then he has had a successful TV and radio presenting career.
