Mokhtar Hashim (1 May 1942 – 18 November 2020) was a Malaysian politician who served as the Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports (1980–1983). The then British colony of Malaya was gradually occupied by the Japanese between 8 December 1941 and the Allied surrender at Singapore on 16 February 1942. The Democratic Action Party ( abbreviation: DAP; ms, Parti Tindakan Demokratik; ; ta, ஜனநாயக செயல் கட்சி) is a centre-left social democratic political party in Malaysia.
