''Mohanagar'' () is a Bangladeshi drama streaming television series created by Ashfaque Nipun. Starring Mosharraf Karim as the Officer in Charge (OC) of Kotwali police station, Dhaka. The series consisting of eight episodes premiered on 25 June 2021 on Hoichoi. Khairul Basar, Shamol Mawla, Nishat Priom, Mostafizur Noor Imran, Nasir Uddin Khan, Zakia Bari Momo, Shahed Ali co-starred. In March 2023, the series was renewed for a second season '' Mohanagar 2 and was released on 20 April 2023.'' Premise Sub-inspector Moloy Kumar (Mostafizur Noor Imran) got a tip from one of his trusted informers that a wanted criminal returned to the capital. He went on the hunt for this criminal with his superior officer in charge Harun (Mosharraf Karim) in the middle of the night. In the meantime, police arrested Afnan Chowdhury (Shamol Mawla), the son of an influential businessman and politician accused of a hit and run case. Ashfaque Nipun
Ashfaque Nipun (born 26 August 1980) is a Bangladeshi filmmaker, screenwriter and actor best known for directing ''Mohanagar''. Nipun wrote screenplays for the films ''Dondo Shomash'' (2017); and ''Ei Shohore'' (2019). He directed the television programs '' Mohanagar'' (2021); and ''Sabrina'' (2022). Early life Ashfaque Nipun was born and raised in Chittagong, Bangladesh. His father was an expatriate, working as an electrical engineer in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. Career In 2002, Ashfaque Nipun joined a filmmaking workshop hosted by Anisul Haque and Mostofa Sarwar Farooki at Chittagong Film Centre. Later, he moved to Dhaka from Chittagong to begin a career in the entertainment industry. Afsana Karim Mimi (known as Afsana Mimi; born 20 December 1968) is a Bangladeshi actress, model and director. She won Bangladesh National Film Award for Best Supporting Actress for her role in the film ''Paap Punno'' (2022).
