Mengla County (; Tai Lue: , ''Mueang La''; lo, ເມືອງລ້າ; th, เมืองล้า) is a county under the jurisdiction of the Xishuangbanna Dai Autonomous Prefecture, in far southern Yunnan province, China. ''Meng'' is a variation of ''Mueang''. Name "Mongla", "Mengla" and "Meungla" are different romanizations of the same Tai word. Thus, to differentiate Mengla County in China and Mong La Township in Myanmar, the locals call the former Greater Mengla/Mongla while the latter Lesser Mongla/Mengla. Yuxi–Mohan Railway
The Yuxi–Mohan railway or Yumo railway (), is a Chinese section of the China–Laos railway in Yunnan Province of southwest China. The line runs from Yuxi in central Yunnan to Mohan, a town in Mengla County on the border with Laos in the Xishuangbanna Dai Autonomous Prefecture of southern Yunnan. The Yumo railway is designed to "provide efficient, safe, low-carbon, affordable, railway transport" within Yunnan Province. Branching from the existing Kunming–Yuxi–Hekou railway at Yuxi and connecting directly to the Boten–Vientiane railway on the Laotian side, the Yumo railway is a part of the Kunming–Singapore railway and will eventually carry traffic across the Greater Mekong Subregion. Boten–Vientiane Railway
The Boten–Vientiane railway is the Lao section of the Lao–China Railway (LCR), running between the capital Vientiane and the northern town of Boten on the border with Yunnan, China. The line was officially opened on 3 December 2021. A collaboration project between Laos and China, the line's northern end is directly connected to the Chinese rail system at Mohan in Yunnan, through the Yuxi–Mohan railway, and has provisions in the south to link with the Bangkok–Nong Khai high-speed railway in Thailand and possibly all the way to Singapore via HSR. The railway ends at Vientiane South cargo station.
