Mohammad Zam Abdul Rashid
On 2 December 2005, at his Dover Road flat, 44-year-old condominium caretaker Mohammad Zam Abdul Rashid attacked and severely assaulted his 38-year-old wife Ramona Johari (a production operator) after he accused her of getting close to a colleague. Ramona died from the assault two days later in hospital, and for having battered his wife to death, Mohammad Zam was charged with murder, but after he was diagnosed to be suffering from frontal lobe syndrome at the time of the offence, which caused him to suffer from diminished responsibility at the time of the murder, Mohammad Zam's murder charge was reduced to manslaughter. Mohammad Zam pleaded guilty and was hence jailed for life in September 2006, after the trial court found him to be a lingering menace to society and his condition required medication on a lifelong basis, as well as the sheer and relentless brutality exhibited by Mohammad Zam when he was battering his wife to death. Kan Ting Chiu () is a former Judge in the Supreme Court. Kan retired as a Judge on 27 August 2011 at the age of 65. Kan received his Bachelor of Laws and Master of Laws from the University of Singapore (now the National University of Singapore) in 1970 and 1988 respectively. He was admitted as an advocate and solicitor in Singapore in 1973. He joined the Singapore Legal Service in 1970 and was appointed State Counsel at the Attorney-General's Chambers. Woo Bih Li () is a Singaporean lawyer who has been serving as a judge of the Supreme Court of Singapore since 2003. Choo Han Teck
Choo Han Teck (born 20 February 1954) is a Singaporean judge of the Supreme Court of Singapore, Supreme Court. He was formerly a lawyer before his appointment to the court as a judge. It was revealed in 2021 that Choo was one of the defence lawyers representing Adrian Lim, the infamous Toa Payoh child killer who was executed in 1988 for charges of murdering a girl and boy as ritual sacrifices. In 1994, Choo also defended Phua Soy Boon, a jobless Singaporean who was hanged in 1995 for killing a moneylender. Choo was first appointed Judicial Commissioner in 1995, and later appointed High Court Judge in January 2003. The Oriental Hotel murder occurred on 6 June 1994, when two Japanese people, Japanese tourists were robbed and attacked by two men in their shared room in the Oriental Hotel in Singapore.
