Mohammad Sufiur Rahman
Mohammad Sufiur Rahman is a retired Bangladeshi diplomat and former Permanent Representative of Bangladesh to the United Nations Office in Geneva. He is the former ambassador of Bangladesh to Switzerland. He is the former High Commissioner of Bangladesh to Australia. He served as the ambassador of Bangladesh to New Zealand and Fiji. He is the former High Commissioner of Bangladesh to Sri Lanka. Rahman is a Senior Research Fellow at the South Asian Institute of Policy and Governance of the North South University. He served as the Ambassador of Bangladesh to the Holy See. Early life Rahman was born on 1 December 1964. He was completed his undergrad in Civil Engineering from the Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology. He has an MBA from the Institute of Business Administration, University of Dhaka. History In 1975, after the Assassination of Sheikh Mujibur Rahman in the 15 August 1975 Bangladeshi coup d'état, Shah AMS Kibria, was appointed the Permanent Representative of Bangladesh to the United Nations Office in Geneva. Debapriya Bhattacharya was appointed the Permanent Representative of Bangladesh to the United Nations Office in Geneva in September 2007 by the Fakruddin Ahmed led Caretaker government. Tareq Md Ariful Islam is a Bangladeshi diplomat and the permanent representative of Bangladesh to the United Nations Office in Geneva. He is the former High Commissioner of Bangladesh to Sri Lanka. Early life Islam has a bachelors in Civil Engineering from the Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology. He did his master's degree in Diplomacy and Trade at the Monash University.
