Mohammad Al Khalid Al Sabah
Mohammad Al Khalid Al Sabah (, born 1955) is a Kuwaiti politician. He was deputy prime minister twice from 1996 to 2003 and in the period 2013–2017 and interior minister (2013–2016) of Kuwait. He was also the defense minister from 2016 to 2017. Early life Sabah was born in 1955. He is the brother of Sabah Al Khalid Al Sabah. His other brother Ahmad Al Khalid Al Sabah is the former deputy prime minister and defense minister. Career and activities Sabah was the director general of the General Department of Citizenship and Travel Documents. Then he served as the governor of Hawally from 1991 to 1996. He was appointed interior minister on 15 October 1996, replacing Ahmad Humoud Al Sabah in the post. Sabah retained his cabinet portfolio in the March 1998 and the February 2001 reshuffles. Kuwaiti Detainees At Guantanamo Bay
Twelve Kuwaiti detainees were held in extrajudicial detention in the United States Guantanamo Bay detention camps, in Cuba. The last Kuwaiti, Fayiz Al Kandari, was repatriated in January 2016. The US had accused the 12 Kuwaitis of being associated with or were members of al-Qaeda or the Taliban. All 12 men denied the charges. Most of the men said they were on charitable missions and all said they were sold to American forces for bounty. None of the Kuwaiti prisoners held in Cuba was ever charged with a crime. Releases Nasser Al Mutairi (ISN 205) was the first Kuwaiti released in January 2005. Al Mutairi said he traveled to Afghanistan for ribat, according to his Combatant Status Review Tribunal transcripts. Faiz Mohammed Ahmed Al Kandari
Faiz Mohammed Ahmed Al Kandari (born 3 June 1977) is a Kuwaiti citizen who was held in extrajudicial detention in the United States' Guantanamo Bay detainment camp in Cuba, from 2002 to 2016. He has never been charged with war crimes. The US Department of Defense reports he was born on 3 June 1977, in Kuwait City. Kandari was transferred to Kuwait on 8 January 2016. Jaber Al-Mubarak Al-Hamad Al-Sabah
Sheikh Jaber Al-Mubarak Al-Hamad Al-Sabah (, 5 January 1942 – 14 September 2024) was a Kuwaiti royal and politician who served as the prime minister of Kuwait from 2011 to 2019. He previously served as minister of defense as well as deputy prime minister. In April 2021 a Kuwaiti court ordered his detention on corruption charges.
