Mohamed Hasan Abdullahi (Jidhif)
General Mohamed Hasan Abdullahi () also known as "Jidhif" was a chief of staff of the Somaliland Armed Forces. He hails from the Jibril Abokor, a Sa'ad Musa sub-division of the Habr Awal Isaaq clan. In the 1980s, he joined the Somali National Movement. Before being appointed as the chief of staff, he was head of Mercy Corps in Somaliland. Biography Jidhif was born in Hargeisa in 1950. His father is Xasan Cabdi Laahi and his mother is Aamina Yoonis Boon. Jidhif entered elementary school in Tog Wajaale in 1960. His nickname Jidhif was given to him at this time by journalist Ahmed Hassan Awke. He received his secondary education from 1963 at the Eek Amoud School in Borama. Hargeisa
Hargeisa ( ; ; ) is the capital and largest city of the Republic of Somaliland, a ''List of states with limited recognition, de facto'' sovereign state in the Horn of Africa, still considered internationally to be part of Somalia. It is also the regional capital of the Maroodi Jeex region of Somaliland. Hargeisa was founded as a watering and trading stop between the coast and the interior by the Isaaq Sultanate. Initially it served as a watering well for the vast livestock of the Isaaq clan that inhabited that specific region and later were joined by other Isaaq clans that currently inhabit Hargeisa. Somaliland
Somaliland, officially the Republic of Somaliland, is an List of states with limited recognition, unrecognised country in the Horn of Africa. It is located in the southern coast of the Gulf of Aden and bordered by Djibouti to the northwest, Ethiopia to the south and west, and Somalia to the east. Ahmed Hassan Awke (1943 16 November 2015) () () was a veteran Somali journalist, who spent most of his life in the media industry. Awke is often considered to be one of the best Somali journalists because of his very linguistic eloquence, and was often used as a favorite commentator. He served as a special reporter for Somalia's late president Siad Barre until it collapsed in 1991. He hailed from the Jibril Abokor, a Sa'ad Musa sub-division of the Habr Awal Isaaq clan that predominately inhabits the Gabiley region. Tog Wajaale (also known as Wajaale, Wajale, Tug Wajale, Togwajaale) is a city on the border of Somaliland and Ethiopia. Tog Wajaale is the main border crossing for goods coming in and out of Somaliland, primarily from the port city of Berbera, Somaliland's main port. Ferfer
Ferfer is a town in the Ethiopian Somali Regional State, on the border with the Somali Hiran region ( Beledweyne District). The town straddles the disputed 1950s-era Provisional Administrative Line (as depicted on virtually all worldwide maps, atlases, and geographic websites) that separates the Ogaden region of Ethiopia from Somalia, and has a latitude and longitude of with an elevation of 230 meters above sea level. During the first three months of 1964, heavy fighting took place between Ethiopia and Somalia at several border points in the Ogaden, one of which was Ferfer.
