Moffat Johnston
Moffat Johnston (18861935) was a Scottish-born actor with a substantial United States stage career. Career Johnston was born to John Moffat Johnston and Margaret Parke (Boyd). He was educated at Watson's School and the University of Edinburgh. He made his stage debut in 1905 at Theatre Royal, Manchester in Frank Benson's company and went on with them to perform more than 200 Shakespearean roles. In 1914 he toured with his own theatre company in Germany before the outbreak of World War I. During the war he was a Lieutenant of the 8th Sherwood Foresters. He returned to theatrical work after the war making his American debut in 1922 in the world premier of George Bernard Shaw's ''Back to Methuselah''. Johnston appeared in several important Broadway productions in the 1920s, such as ''Methuselah'', '' R. U. Moffatt Benjamin Oxenbould (born 18 November 1943) is an Australian opera director. The Sydney-born Oxenbould was Artistic Director of Opera Australia from 1984 until his retirement in 1999. He had been part of the company since he graduated from the National Institute of Dramatic Art in 1962. Since his retirement he still directs with Opera Australia and Houston Grand Opera, and was a presenter with the classical music radio station ABC Classic FM. Moffat Takadiwa
Moffat Takadiwa (born 1983), is a Zimbabwean contemporary sculptor. He is the founder of the Mbare Art Space in the Mbare neighborhood of the city of Harare. Biography Moffat Takadiwa was born in 1983 in Tengwe, in the north-western district of Hurungwe where he grew up. He then relocated to the city of Harare, where he is known as the 'spiritual garbage man' because of his installations and sculptures he creates from waste products. Takadiwa trained at the Harare Polytechnic where he graduated in 2008 with a BA honors in fine art. Takadiwa also briefly lived in South Africa. It is where he has forged alliances and collaborations that increasingly inform his artistic practice. He addresses material culture, spirituality and the environment.
