Moderates And Populars
Moderates and Populars ( it, Moderati e Popolari, MeP) was a regionalist-centrist political party in Italy active in Apulia. Soon after the 2010 regional election three disgruntled regional councillors coming from three different parties joined forces and launched their own party. These were Giacomo Olivieri (elected with Italy of Values), Nicola Canonico (Democratic Party) and Antonio Buccoliero ( Apulians for Palese). In January 2013 Olivieri resigned from the Regional Council and was replaced by Giacinto Forte (ex-Italy of Values, who joined the MeP), while in March the party was joined also by Antonio Martucci (ex-Italy of Values). Bari ( , ; nap, label= Barese, Bare ; lat, Barium) is the capital city of the Metropolitan City of Bari and of the Apulia region, on the Adriatic Sea, southern Italy. Italy of Values ( it, Italia dei Valori, IdV) is a populist and anti-corruption political party in Italy. The party was founded in 1998 by former '' Mani pulite'' prosecutor Antonio Di Pietro, who entered politics in 1996 and finally left the party in 2014. IdV has aimed at gathering and giving voice to different sectors of the Italian society. From the beginning of its existence one of its major issues has been the so-called "moral issue". Bruno Tabacci (born 27 August 1946) is an Italian politician and member of the Chamber of Deputies. He is the president of the Democratic Centre. In the past, he was member of Christian Democracy and served as the president of Lombardy from 1987 to 1989. Biography Tabacci was born in Quistello, Lombardy, in 1946. He later graduated in economics at University of Parma and worked as a consultant in economy and finance. During the early 1980s, he entered in the Ministry of Industry together with Giovanni Marcora and, subsequently, served as head of the Technical Secretariat at the Minister of Treasury with Giovanni Goria. Most of its members, including its leader Bruno Tabacci, are former Christian Democrats. Regionalism is a political ideology that seeks to increase the political power, influence, and/or self-determination of the people of one or more subnational regions.
