The Mobilize Duo is a two-seater electric quadricycle set to replace the Renault Twizy in 2023, which was unveiled at the 2022 Paris Motor Show. First previewed by the Mobilize EZ-1 concept in 2021, it was eventually renamed to its current name and shown at the 2021 Viva Tech event. The quadricycle is a European Union vehicle category for four-wheeled microcars, which allows these vehicles to be designed to less stringent requirements when compared to regular cars. Quadricycles are defined by limitations in terms of weight, engine power and speed. There are two categories of quadricycles: light quadricycles (L6e) and heavy quadricycles (L7e). The dihedral synchro-helix actuation door system is a type of door with a hinge mechanism which allows the doors to rotate 90° by sweeping outwards and upwards at the hinge. It was designed and developed by Christian von Koenigsegg on behalf of high-performance sports cars manufacturer, Koenigsegg Automotive AB. It was conceived as revolutionary when it made its debut on the CC prototype (1994–2000). The first production car to be fitted with these doors was the Koenigsegg CC8S (2002–2003).
