Mobile Trauma Bay
A Mobile Trauma Bay is a containerized ambulance bay mounted on an Oshkosh Corporation, Oshkosh Oshkosh Logistic Vehicle System Replacement (LVSR), Logistic Vehicle System Replacement (LVSR). It holds state-of-the-art medical equipment and carries a Shock Trauma Platoon, generally consisting of one doctor, a nurse and three Hospital corpsman, corpsmen, providing advanced resuscitative care to critically injured service members within the first hour after a traumatic injury (the "Golden hour (medicine), golden hour"). It takes emergency medical care far forward, saving more lives. Over 98% of the wounded Marines who make it into the MTB, make it out alive. History The MTB was designed and developed by James L. The Logistic Vehicle System Replacement (LVSR) is a family of heavy-duty military logistics vehicles of the United States Marine Corps (USMC) based on a common 5-axle ten-wheel drive (10x10) chassis. The vehicles vary in individual configuration by mission requirements, with three variants in service: a cargo, a Tow truck, wrecker and a Tractor unit, tractor truck. The LVSR was designed and is manufactured by Oshkosh Corporation, Oshkosh Defense. The first LVSRs were ordered in 2006. The LVSR is the USMC's equivalent of the United States Army, U.S. Army’s Heavy Expanded Mobility Tactical Truck (HEMTT) and Palletized Load System (PLS). The Marines do not use the HEMTT or PLS and the Army does not use the LVSR, but both services use a common trailer (M1076) with all three truck types.
