Casamance
Casamance is the area of Senegal south of the Gambia, including the Casamance River. Thionck Essyl (also called Tionk Essil) is a small town and urban commune in Ziguinchor, Senegal, located 65 km north-west of the region capital. Rural communities (''Communautés rurales'') (CR) are the fourth-level administrative divisions in Senegal. They are administrative subdivisions comprising the villages, but are distinct from the urban communes and municipalities concerning medium or large towns.
