Mitra Institution (Main) is a heritage educational institution of Kolkata, West Bengal, teaching grades one to twelve under the West Bengal Board of Secondary Education and the West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Education. The school premises are situated at 60-B Surya Sen Street, near Sealdah. There is a different co-educational primary and a girls school section up to class X. History The school was established by ''Babu'' Bisweswar Mitra on 5 January 1898. Initially it started with only five students. In 1901, Raja Peary Mohan Mukherjee became the first President of the school. After the recognition of University of Calcutta in 1904, the school became famous. Sir Ashutosh Mukherjee and Sir Alexander Pedlar, the then Vice Chancellor, helped the institution to grant affiliation of the university. Bhupendra Nath Bose
Bhupendra Nath Bose (13 January 1859 – 13 September 1924) was an Indian politician and President of the Indian National Congress in 1914. Life and works Bose was born in Radhanagar, Bengal Presidency in 1859. He graduated from the Presidency College, Calcutta in 1880. He completed his master's degree in 1881 and his law degree in 1883. He founded the law firm B.N. Basu and Company, whose office is still located at Temple Chambers in Kolkata. From 1904 to 1910, Bose was a member of the Bengal Legislature. During this period, he was involved in the nationalist movement. In 1905 he presided over the Bengal Provincial Conference held at Mymensingh. He joined the anti-partition agitation and campaign against British goods throughout Bengal. He opposed the passing of the Press Act in 1910. Debi Prasad Pal
Debi Prasad Pal (1 November 1927 – 14 May 2021) was a Senior Advocate practicing in the Supreme Court of India and High Courts of India. He was a former Minister of State for Finance, a former Judge of Calcutta High Court and a three-time former Member of Parliament (MP) in Lok Sabha. Early life and education Debi Prasad Pal was born in 1927 in Kolkata. His father was noted scholar and educationist Aswini Kumar Pal and mother was Sarala Bala Pal. He did his bachelor's studies in Presidency College and got his M.A. degree from Calcutta University. Nirendranath Chakravarty or Chakroborty (; 19 October 1924 – 25 December 2018) was an Indian Bengali poet, novelist, and essayist. He's known for use of expressive clarity and sharp diction in his poems. He taught Bengali poetics in books like ''Kobitar Class'', and created the List of fictional detectives, fictional detective Mr. Bhaduri. In addition, he translated Hergé's ''The Adventures of Tintin'' in Bengali. He was long time editor of ''Anandamela,'' a children's magazine.
