Mitchell is a town in Sheboygan County, Wisconsin, United States. The population was 1,132 at the 2000 census. It is included in the Sheboygan, Wisconsin Metropolitan Statistical Area. The unincorporated community of Parnell is located in the town. Geography According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 36.2 square miles (93.7 km2), of which, 36.1 square miles (93.6 km2) of it is land and 0.04 square miles (0.1 km2) of it (0.08%) is water. Demographics As of the census of 2000, there were 1,132 people, 419 households, and 333 families residing in the town. The population density was 31.3 people per square mile (12.1/km2). There were 437 housing units at an average density of 12.1 per square mile (4.7/km2). Simon Gillen
Simon Gillen (May 1, 1855July 6, 1918) was an American politician, farmer, attorney and jurist. He served one term in the Wisconsin State Assembly and held a number of local offices in Sheboygan County, Wisconsin. Biography Born in the Town of Mitchell, Sheboygan County, Wisconsin, Gillen was a farmer. The Wisconsin State Assembly is the lower house of the Wisconsin Legislature. Together with the smaller Wisconsin Senate, the two constitute the legislative branch of the U.S. state of Wisconsin.
