Mitch Wilson (rugby Union)
Mitch Wilson (born 15 April 1996) is an Australian-born American rugby union player, currently playing for with Anthem RC in Major League Rugby (MLR). His preferred position is wing or fullback. Early career Wilson is from Sydney in Australia before moving to Oviedo, Florida as a fifteen-year-old. He attended Life University where he won two Championships in 2018 and 2019. He also has played with Mystic River Rugby Club in the American Rugby Premiership. Professional career Wilson joined the New England Free Jacks ahead of the 2020 Major League Rugby season. He remained with the team in 2021 and 2022, before signing a two-year extension with the side in 2022. He would be named to the all Major league rugby first team in 2022. He would also win 2 championships in 2023 and 2024 during his tenure. Wilson represented the USA U20 team in 2016, before earning selection for the USA Selects in 2018 and 2019. 2020 Major League Rugby Season
The 2020 Major League Rugby season was the third season of Major League Rugby, the professional rugby union competition sanctioned by USA Rugby. The regular season schedule was released on September 23, 2019, and began on February 8, 2020. Three teams made their debut in 2020: the New England Free Jacks, Old Glory DC, and Rugby ATL. The Seattle Seawolves were the defending champions, having won their second consecutive title from the previous year. On March 12, 2020, MLR announced the season would go on hiatus immediately for 30 days due to increasing local social distancing restrictions amidst the COVID-19 pandemic.
