Mitch Versteeg
Mitch Versteeg (born November 3, 1988) is a Canadian former professional ice hockey defenceman. Playing career Versteeg played major junior hockey with the Lethbridge Hurricanes of the Western Hockey League, scoring 12 goals and 29 assists for 41 points, and earning 297 penalty minutes, in 148 games played. Versteeg began his professional career with the 2009–10 season, playing the majority of the season in the ECHL with the Kalamazoo Wings, but also playing three games in the American Hockey League with the Worcester Sharks. He was a member of 2010–11 Kalamazoo Wings Eastern Conference Championship team. On July 25, 2013, the Heilbronner Falken of Germany's of the 2nd Bundesliga signed Versteeg for the 2013–14 season. In August 2014, Versteeg signed a contract with the Nikkō Ice Bucks of the ALH. The Western Hockey League (WHL) is a junior ice hockey league based in Western Canada and the Northwestern United States. Kristopher Royce Versteeg (born May 13, 1986) is a Canadian entrepreneur and former professional ice hockey winger. During his career, he played for the Chicago Blackhawks, Toronto Maple Leafs, Philadelphia Flyers, Florida Panthers, Carolina Hurricanes, Los Angeles Kings, Calgary Flames, Avangard Omsk, Växjö Lakers and Nitra. Versteeg is a two-time Stanley Cup champion with the Chicago Blackhawks in 2010 and 2015. Originally selected 134th overall in the 2004 NHL Entry Draft by the Boston Bruins, he played with the club's minor league affiliate, the Providence Bruins of the American Hockey League (AHL), for parts of two seasons before being traded to the Blackhawks. The 2010–11 ECHL season was the 23rd season of the ECHL. The regular season schedule ran from October 15, 2010, to April 2, 2011. The Kelly Cup playoffs followed the regular season, with the first playoff game held on April 4, 2011, and the final game (between the Alaska Aces and the Kalamazoo Wings) held on May 21, 2011.
