Mitch McCarron
Mitchell James Robert McCarron (born 30 June 1992) is an Australian professional basketball player for the Eltham Wildcats of the NBL1 South. He played college basketball in the United States for Metropolitan State University of Denver (Metro State) between 2012 and 2015. He played in the National Basketball League (Australia), National Basketball League (NBL) between 2016 and 2025. Early life and career McCarron was born in Alice Springs and lived there until the age of three. He attended Genesis Christian College in Brisbane. In 2010, McCarron attended the Australian Institute of Sport (AIS) in Canberra and played for the Australian Institute of Sport#Basketball program, AIS men's team in the South East Australian Basketball League (SEABL). Melbourne United
Melbourne United is an Australian professional basketball team based in Melbourne, Victoria. United compete in the National Basketball League (NBL) and play their home games at John Cain Arena. The team made their debut in the NBL in 1984 as the Melbourne Tigers. The Taranaki Airs are a New Zealand professional basketball team based in New Plymouth. The Airs compete in the National Basketball League (NBL) and play their home games at TSB Stadium. 2017 New Zealand NBL Season
The 2017 NBL season was the 36th season of the National Basketball League. For the second year in a row, the league fielded seven teams. The regular season commenced on Thursday 16 March in Invercargill with the Southland Sharks hosting the Nelson Giants at Stadium Southland. The season contained 13 weeks of regular season games followed by a Final Four weekend in June at Tauranga's ASB BayPark Arena. The seven teams played every team on three occasions to make up an 18-game round robin season. With an 18–0 record, the Wellington Saints made NBL history by becoming the first team to complete a perfect regular season. They went on to post a perfect 20–0 campaign after sweeping the Final Four and collecting their 10th NBL championship in the process. The All-NBL Team is an annual National Basketball League (NBL) honour bestowed on the best players in the league following every NBL season. The 2015–16 LEB Oro season was the 20th season of the Spanish basketball second league LEB Oro. The season started on October 2 and ended on May 27 with the last game of the promotion playoffs finals. The Primera FEB, formerly known as LEB or LEB Oro, is the second basketball division of the Spanish basketball league system after the Liga ACB. It is run by the FEB. The FEB leagues are divided into three categories (the other two are the Segunda FEB and the Tercera FEB). The league was founded in 1996 and is played under FIBA rules. The league is contested by 18 clubs. Each season, the top-finishing team in the Primera FEB are automatically promoted to the Liga ACB. 2020–21 NBL Season
The 2020–21 NBL season was the 43rd season of the National Basketball League since its establishment in 1979. A total of nine teams contested in the 2020–21 season. The regular season was played between January and June 2021, followed by a post-season in June 2021. Australian broadcast rights to the season were held by SBS Viceland in the second year of a two-year deal. All games were available live and free on streaming platforms such as SBS On Demand.
