Mission à Tanger
''Mission in Tangier'' (French: ''Mission à Tanger'') is a 1949 French spy thriller film directed by André Hunebelle and starring Raymond Rouleau, Gaby Sylvia and Mila Parély. It was the first in the trilogy of films featuring dashing reporter Georges Masse, and was followed in 1950 by '' Beware of Blondes''. It was shot at the Billancourt Studios in Paris. The film's sets were designed by the art director Lucien Carré. André Hunebelle
André Hunebelle (; 1 September 1896 – 27 November 1985) was a French maître verrier (master glassmaker) and film director. Master Glass Artist After attending polytechnic school for mathematics, he became a decorator, a designer, and then a master glass maker in the mid-1920s (first recorded exhibition PARIS 1927 included piece "Fruit & Foliage"). His work is known for its clean lines, which are elegant and singularly strong. He exhibited his own glass in a luxurious store located at 2 Avenue Victor-Emmanuel III, at the roundabout of the Champs Èlysées in Paris. Etienne Franckhauser, who also made molds for Lalique and Sabino, made the molds for Hunebelle's glass which was fabricated by the crystal factory in Choisy-le-Roi, France. Film noir (; ) is a style of Cinema of the United States, Hollywood Crime film, crime dramas that emphasizes cynicism (contemporary), cynical attitudes and motivations. Andrée Micheline Ghislaine Tainsy (26 April 1911 – 19 December 2004) was a Belgian actress. She worked with several notable actors like Philippe Noiret, Jean Louis Trintignant, Charlotte Rampling and famous directors like Claude Chabrol, Costas Gavras and François Ozon. Jean Richard (18 April 1921 – 12 December 2001) was a French actor, comedian, and circus entrepreneur. He is best remembered for his role as Georges Simenon's ''Maigret'' in the eponymous French television series, which he played for more than twenty years, and for his circus activities. Richard was born in Bessines, Deux-Sevres. In the 1970s–1980s, he owned and managed three major circuses, two theme parks near Paris, La Mer de Sable and La Vallée des Peaux-Rouges, and a private zoo in his property of Ermenonville, Oise. Gregori Mikhailovich Chmara ( Ukrainian: Григорій Михайлович Хмара, Russian: Григорий Михайлович Хмара; 29 July 1878 – 3 February 1970) was a Ukrainian-born stage and film actor whose career spanned six decades. Biography Born in Poltava, Russian Empire (now Ukraine), Chmara began his career in 1910 at the Moscow Art Theater. He made several films in Russia and following the Russian Revolution he went to Germany where he performed as a singer. After meeting the Danish actress Asta Nielsen, the two fell in love and lived together, but never married. In 1930, he began appearing in Polish and French films, as well as German films. His last film role was in the Stellio Lorenzi-directed French television film adaptation of Fyodor Dostoevsky novel ''Crime and Punishment'' (''Crime et châtiment''), filmed in 1970 and released in 1971.
