Miss World Ecuador 2013 was the first Miss World Ecuador pageant, held at the Centro Cultural Libertador Simón Bolívar in Guayaquil, Ecuador, on July 4, 2013. At the end of the night Laritza Párraga of Santo Domingo was crowned Miss World Ecuador 2013 and competed at Miss World 2013 in Bali, Indonesia. Ibarra, Ecuador
Ibarra (; full name San Miguel de Ibarra; Quechua: Impapura) is a city in northern Ecuador and the capital of the Imbabura Province. It lies at the foot of the Imbabura Volcano and on the left bank of the Tahuando river. It is about northeast of Ecuador's capital Quito. History Ibarra was founded in 1606 by order of the President of the Royal Audience of Quito, Miguel de Ibarra. The development of the city included the systematic construction of public buildings including an important number of churches but an earthquake in 1868 destroyed most of them. After the devastating earthquake of August 16, 1868 the city was re-settled in 1872. Based on its newest date of foundation, Ibarra is the youngest city in Ecuador. Ángela Maritza Bonilla Zapata (born December 27, 1991) is an Ecuadorian model and beauty pageant titleholder who won Miss Earth Ecuador 2015. She also won Miss Global 2016 representing Ecuador. Imbabura Province
Imbabura () is a province located in the Andes of northern Ecuador. The capital is Ibarra. The people of the province speak Spanish, and a large portion of the population also speaks the Imbaburan Kichwa variety of the Quechua language. The summit of Cotacachi Volcano at an elevation of is north-east of the town of Cotacachi. The volcano is located in the large Cotacachi Cayapas Ecological Reserve. Esmeraldas () is a coastal city in northwestern Ecuador. It is the seat of the Esmeraldas Canton and capital of the Esmeraldas Province. It has an international sea port and a small airport (IATA location identifier: ESM). Machala
Machala () is a city in south-west Ecuador. It is the capital of the El Oro Province, and is located near the Gulf of Guayaquil on fertile lowlands. Machala has a population of 241,606 (2010 census); it is the eighth-biggest city in the country, and the second-most important port. It has been referred to as the ''Banana Capital of the World''. Economy Machala is a commercial center for the surrounding agriculture industries. There is a large trade in bananas, coffee and cocoa. El Oro Province
El Oro (; ''oro'' = gold) is the southernmost of Ecuador's coastal provinces. It was named for its historically important gold production. Today it is one of the world's major exporters of bananas.
