Miss Venezuela 2001 was the 48th Miss Venezuela pageant, was held in Caracas, Venezuela, on September 14, 2001, after weeks of events. The winner of the pageant was Cynthia Lander, Miss Distrito Capital. The pageant was broadcast live on Venevision from the Poliedro de Caracas in Caracas, Venezuela. At the conclusion of the final night of competition, outgoing titleholder Eva Ekvall crowned Cynthia Lander of Distrito Capital as the new Miss Venezuela. Cynthia Cristina Lander Zamora (; born June 10, 1982, in Caracas) is a Venezuelan actress, TV host and beauty-pageant titleholder who represented her country at Miss Universe 2002 and Miss International 2002. Personal life Born in Caracas, Lander moved to the United States at age 11 and returned to Venezuela when she was 16. On September 24, 2011, Lander married her boyfriend of two years, businessman Carlos Martel Izaguirre. Apure (state)
Apure State ( es, Estado Apure, ) is one of the 23 states of Venezuela. Its territory formed part of the provinces of Mérida, Maracaibo, and Barinas, in accordance with successive territorial ordinations pronounced by the colonial authorities.
