Miss Universe Japan
Miss Universe Japan () is a national Beauty pageant in Japan to select an official candidate for the Miss Universe pageant. Since 2018, the national director of Miss Universe Japan is Hiroko Mima. History The Miss Japan pageant was founded in 1952, and has gone through several sponsor changes. Between 1952 and 1995 it was sponsored and run by Asahi Broadcasting Corporation. The sponsorship ended in 1995 and after a 2-year hiatus, French businesswoman Ines Ligron seized the business opportunity and established a company to operate the pageant as Miss Universe Japan. Until 2007, the organisation managed to produce one winner, two top 5 runners-up and one top 15 semifinalist at the Miss Universe pageant. Ligron was catapulted to the international spotlight when Riyo Mori won the second Miss Universe crown for Japan in Miss Universe 2007, 2007. A beauty pageant is a competition in which the contestants are judged and ranked based on various physical and mental attributes. Per its name, beauty pageants traditionally focus on judging the contestants' physical attractiveness, sometimes solely so, but most modern beauty pageants have since expanded to also judge contestants based on "inner beauty"—their individual traits and characteristics, including personality, Human intelligence, intelligence, aptitude, moral character, and Charity (practice), charity. Miss Universe 2023
Miss Universe 2023 was the 72nd Miss Universe pageant, held at the Gimnasio Nacional José Adolfo Pineda in San Salvador, El Salvador, on 18 November 2023. At the conclusion of the event, Sheynnis Palacios of Nicaragua was crowned as Miss Universe 2023 by R'Bonney Gabriel of the United States. Miss Universe 2018 was the 67th Miss Universe pageant, held at the Impact, Muang Thong Thani, Impact Arena in Pak Kret, Nonthaburi, Thailand, on 17 December 2018. At the conclusion of the event, Demi-Leigh Tebow, Demi-Leigh Nel-Peters of South Africa crowned Catriona Gray of the Philippines as Miss Universe 2018. This was the Philippines' fourth victory after their recent victory in Miss Universe 2015, 2015. Miss Universe 2019 was the 68th Miss Universe pageant, held at Stage 1 of Tyler Perry Studios in Atlanta, Georgia, United States on 8 December 2019. At the end of the event, Zozibini Tunzi of South Africa was crowned as Miss Universe 2019 by Catriona Gray of the Philippines. It was South Africa's third win after 1978 and their recent victory in 2017. Aisha Harumi Tochigi (杤木 愛シャ 暖望, born January 4, 1996) is a Japanese model and beauty pageant titleholder who was crowned Miss Universe Japan 2020. She was born in Japan to a Ghanaian father and a Japanese mother. Early life She spent her childhood in Ghana from the age of 10 to 17, before returning to Japan. She graduated from Dokkyo University and is fluent in both Japanese and English. Career Tochigi competed in the Miss Universe Japan pageant twice.
