Miss Teen USA 2008
Miss Teen USA 2008, the 26th Miss Teen USA pageant, was held on August 16, 2008 at Grand Ballroom in the Atlantis Paradise Island, Nassau, Bahamas. This was the first Miss Teen USA pageant that was not televised, after then- Miss Universe Organization broadcast partner NBC failed to renew its contract, and it was also the first Miss Teen USA pageant broadcasting only online by Ustream and the first held outside the United States. The pageant was hosted by Seth Goldman and Miss Teen USA 2004, Shelley Hennig. At the conclusion of the pageant, outgoing titleholder Hilary Cruz crowned her successor Stevi Perry of Arkansas as the new Miss Teen USA. Shelley Hennig
Shelley Catherine Hennig (born January 2, 1987) is an American actress and model. She is the recipient of several accolades, including a Teen Choice Award and two Daytime Emmy Award nominations. Prior to pursuing an acting career, Hennig competed in beauty pageants and won the Miss Teen USA 2004 competition. She landed her first major role as Stephanie Johnson on the soap opera ''Days of Our Lives'' (2007–2011, 2017) and went on to appear in The CW supernatural teen drama '' The Secret Circle'' (2011–2012). Miss South Carolina Teen USA
The Miss South Carolina Teen USA pageant is the competition that selects the representatives for the state of South Carolina in the Miss Teen USA pageant. The pageant has been directed by RPM Productions since its inception. South Carolina is in the top 10 most successful states at Miss Teen USA in terms of number and value of placements, this state has placed 17 times at Miss Teen USA and has produced two winners. Vanessa Joy Minnillo won the Miss Teen USA title on August 17, 1998 in Shreveport, Louisiana and later went on to become successful in the entertainment industry and Katherine (K.) Miss Oklahoma Teen USA
The Miss Oklahoma Teen USA competition is the pageant that selects the representative for the state of Oklahoma in the Miss Teen USA pageant. This pageant is directed by Vanbros and Associates, headquartered in Lenexa, Kansas. In 1997, Oklahoma joined the Vanbros group of state pageants for the Miss USA and Teen USA system. Oklahoma is in the top 5 most successful states at Miss Teen USA in terms of number and value of placements. Oklahoma's best performance came in the 1980s through the early 1990s. After Oklahoma was taken over by Vanbros there was a six-year lapse, before Nikki Carver brought the state back into the semi-finals in 2003. The state's most recent placement was in 2019, when Abigail Billings finished in the top 15. Miss New Hampshire Teen USA
The Miss New Hampshire Teen USA competition is the pageant that selects the representative for the state of New Hampshire in the Miss Teen USA pageant. It was directed by The Clemente Organization based in Malden, Massachusetts from 2013 to 2019. GDB Theatre and Pageant Productions became the new directors for the event starting from 2020 competition. In terms of number of placements New Hampshire is one of the least successful states. From 1983 to 2007 their only placement was when Janel Bishop won the Miss Teen USA title in 1991 becoming the 8th state that won the Miss Teen USA title for the first time. Miss Massachusetts Teen USA
Massachusetts has had a number of semi-finalist placings but is not one of the most successful states at Miss Teen USA. Their best placement was in 2001, when Marianna Zaslavsky placed 2nd runner-up to Marissa Whitley. The most notable Miss Massachusetts Teen USA is Susie Castillo, who went on to win the Miss Massachusetts USA and Miss USA crowns. She is one of three Massachusetts teens to win the respective Miss title. One other Teen also competed at Miss America. Miss Florida Teen USA
The Miss Florida Teen USA competition is the pageant that selects the representative for the state of Florida in the Miss Teen USA pageant. Florida ties with Illinois and North Carolina for most Miss Photogenic awards (3). These were won in a successive streak from 1996 to 1998. In 2021, Florida became the 27th state that won the Miss Teen USA title for the first time. Miss Colorado Teen USA
The Miss Colorado Teen USA competition is the pageant that selects the representative for the state of Colorado in the Miss Teen USA pageant. From 1993 to 2006, the Miss Colorado Teen USA state pageant was directed by Carol Hirata and the Carlton Group, based in Bellvue, Colorado. In 2007, it was taken over by Future Productions, based in Savage, Minnesota, which also directs pageants in Iowa, Minnesota, North Dakota, South Dakota, Wisconsin and Wyoming. The pageant have been held in Loveland, Greeley and other cities. One of Colorado's semi-finalists was Katee Doland, a Triple Crown winner. The Miss California Teen USA competition is the pageant that selects the representative for the state of California in the Miss Teen USA pageant. It was formed in 1983. This pageant is part of the Miss USA Organization, owned by Miss USA 2008 Crystle Stewart. California is in the top five most successful states at Miss Teen USA in terms of number and value of placements. Miss Arizona Teen USA
The Miss Arizona Teen USA competition is the pageant that selects the representative for the state of Arizona in the Miss Teen USA pageant and the title held by that winner. The first Arizona Teen to place at Miss Teen USA was Jeri-Lynn Beatty who made the top 12 in 1990. Three more Arizona teens have gone on to win the Miss Arizona USA title, including Danielle Demski, one of only two to place in the top five or six at Miss Teen USA. Miss Alabama Teen USA
The Miss Alabama Teen USA competition is the pageant that selects the representative for the state of Alabama in the Miss Teen USA pageant and the name of the title held by that winner. Alabama's success at Miss Teen USA has improved in recent years, with eight teens making the cut, although none have placed higher than 4th runner-up until 2016. That placement went to Anna Mingus, who also won Miss Congeniality, Alabama's only special award until Erin Snow won Miss Photogenic in 2016. Mingus later took the title Miss Alabama USA in 1995, and is one of only three Alabama teens to win a Miss USA state title. Until 2010 Miss and Teen Alabama was directed by the Premier Pageants group, and was the first state to be taken under this directorate. Miss Idaho Teen USA
The Miss Idaho Teen USA competition is the pageant that selects the representative for the state of Idaho in the Miss Teen USA pageant. Idaho has only placed three times and as such is one of the least successful states at Miss Teen USA. Their first placement, and the state's only placement for the first twenty-five years of the competition, was in 1989 when Brandi Sherwood won the Miss Teen USA title becoming the 7th state that won the title for the first time. Sherwood went on to make history as the first Miss Teen USA to be crowned Miss USA. Nine other Idaho teens went on to win the Miss Idaho USA crown, including Sherwood and Elizabeth Barchas, one of only seven women to compete in Miss Teen USA, Miss USA and Miss America.
