Miss Nevada
The Miss Nevada competition is the pageant that selects the representative for the state of Nevada in the Miss America competition, and the name of the title held by that winner. The first Nevadan to compete at Miss America was Carol Lampe in 1949. The competition currently takes place in Lake Tahoe, Nevada. Other venues have included Reno, Elko, Las Vegas, Carson City and Mesquite. It has at various times been hosted by the Reno Lions Club and the Soroptimist club of Nevada. Karrina Ferris of Carson City was crowned Miss Nevada 2024 on June 21, 2024, at Bally's Lake Tahoe in Stateline, Nevada. She will compete for the title of Miss America 2025. Miss USA
Miss USA is an American beauty pageant that has been held annually since 1952 to select the entrant from United States in the Miss Universe pageant. The Miss Universe Organization operated both pageants, as well as Miss Teen USA, until 2020. In 2020, the organization announced it was licensing operation of the Miss USA and Miss Teen USA pageants to Crystle Stewart, who was the Miss USA winner in 2008. In October 2022, Stewart was suspended, and the rights to the pageants were returned to the Miss Universe Organization. The pageants are now operated by Laylah Rose. The pageant was owned by Donald Trump from 1996 to 2015 and was previously broadcast on NBC. In September 2015, WME/ IMG purchased the pageant from Trump. Miss America 2024 was the 96th Miss America pageant, held at the Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts in Orlando, Florida, alongside the Miss America's Teen 2024 competition, on January 14, 2024. Grace Stanke of Wisconsin crowned her successor Madison Marsh of Colorado at the end of the event. Minden is a census-designated place (CDP) in Douglas County, Nevada, United States. The population was 3,001 at the United States Census 2010, 2010 census. It is the county seat of Douglas County and is adjacent to the town of Gardnerville, Nevada, Gardnerville. The Douglas campus of the Western Nevada College is located in Minden. Gardnerville is an unincorporated town in Douglas County, Nevada, United States, adjacent to the county seat of Minden. The population was 6,211 at the 2020 census. This was the 94th Miss America competition and was held at the Mohegan Sun in Uncasville, Connecticut, as the Miss America Organization celebrated its 100th anniversary. It was the first Miss America since Miss America 1954, 1954 that was not televised, but it was streamed on Peacock (streaming service), Peacock.
