Miss Michigan USA
The Miss Michigan USA competition is the pageant that selects the representative for the state of Michigan in the Miss USA pageant. It is currently directed by Proctor Productions. Their first Miss USA victory was in 1990, and notable because Carole Gist was the first African-American to win the title. Following in her footsteps, Kenya Moore, also African-American, won the title in 1993. In 2010, Michigan's Rima Fakih became the first Arab-American to win the title. The most recent placement was Alma Cooper in 2024, who won the title. Until 2012, no Michigan delegate had been previously competed at either Miss Michigan or Miss Michigan Teen USA to appear a crossover with Miss USA. Kristen Danyal became the first Michigan delegate to have a Teen to Miss crossover in Miss USA. Alma Cooper of Okemos was crowned Miss Michigan USA 2024 on March 21, 2024 at McMorran Entertainment Center in Port Huron, Michigan. Miss Michigan
The Miss Michigan competition is the pageant that selects the representative for the state of Michigan in the Miss America pageant. Michigan has won the Miss America crown on five occasions. Jenae Lodewyk of Bay City was crowned Miss Michigan 2024 on June 15, 2024, at Frauenthal Theatre in Muskegon. She will represent the state of Michigan at Miss America 2025. Jillian Susan Dobson (born 8 November 1977) is an American journalist and former beauty pageant titleholder. She has been covering entertainment for the Associated Press since early 2016, and is a contributor for CBS's ''The Early Show'' and HLN. She also is a former television entertainment correspondent for the Fox News Channel. Biography Dobson received a B.A. in journalism ''summa cum laude'' from Troy University in 1998 and an M.A. in journalism from Michigan State University in 2001. After graduation, she interned at Fox News in the Fall of 2001, starting on September 7, 2001 and interviewed rescue workers at Ground Zero in the September 11th attacks on the World Trade Center in 2001. Miss Teen USA 1988
Miss Teen USA 1988, the 6th Miss Teen USA pageant, was televised live from San Bernardino, California on July 25, 1988. At the conclusion of the final competition, Mindy Duncan of Oregon was crowned by outgoing queen Kristi Addis of Mississippi. This was the first of two years the pageant was held in San Bernardino. It was hosted by Dick Clark for the first time, with color commentary from Tracy Scoggins. The preliminary competition was hosted by KCBS-TV weatherman Maclovio Perez and beauty expert Beverly Sassoon. This was also the last time the State Costume competition took place and would not return until thirty-three years later in 2021, under a different organization. Chris Hutchinson (American Football)
Christopher H. Hutchinson (born December 17, 1969) is an American former college football player who was a defensive tackle and linebacker for the Michigan Wolverines from 1989 to 1992. He was selected as a first-team All-American and named the Big Ten Defensive Lineman of the Year in 1992, as well as voted a team captain and MVP. Early life Chris was born in 1969 in Joliet, Illinois. He moved to Houston, Texas at age five. He attended Cypress Creek High School in Harris County, Texas. Miss USA 2022 was the 71st Miss USA pageant, held at the Grand Sierra Resort in Reno, Nevada on 3 October 2022. At the end of the event, Elle Smith of Kentucky crowned R'Bonney Gabriel of Texas as Miss USA 2022. This was Texas' tenth Miss USA title and first win in 14 years.
