Marilyn Cooper (December 14, 1934 – April 22, 2009) was an American actress known primarily for her work on the Broadway stage. Life and career Cooper was born to Ashkenazi Jewish parents, Benjamin Cooper and Edna Becker in New York City. Cooper's great aunt was the Vaudeville star Belle Baker. Harold Jacob "Hecky" Rome (May 27, 1908 – October 26, 1993) was an American composer, lyricist, and writer for musical theater. Biography Rome was born in Hartford, Connecticut and graduated from Hartford Public High School. Originally, he chose to go to Trinity College (Connecticut), Trinity College, but transferred because he felt like a "townie." Rome played piano in local dance bands such as Eddie Wittstein's and was already writing music while studying architecture and law at Yale University. While at Yale, he also pledged to Tau Epsilon Phi. He graduated in 1929 with a Bachelor of Arts, and continued into Yale Law School. After graduation, he worked as an architect in New York City, but continued to pursue his musical interests, arranging music for local bands, and writing material for revues at Green Mansions, a Jewish summer resort in the Adirondack Mountains, Adirondacks. Goddard Lieberson (April 5, 1911 – May 29, 1977) was the president of Columbia Records from 1956 to 1971, and again from 1973 to 1975. He became president of the Recording Industry Association of America in 1964. He was also a composer, and studied with George Frederick McKay, at the University of Washington, Seattle. He married Vera Zorina in 1946 and with her had 2 children. Following her hotly anticipated Millennium Concert 1999/2000 (which is cited as being part of this tour) Barbra decided to take this concert on the road for an 8-day tour of Australia, Los Angeles & New York. The tour grossed a record-breaking $70 million and drew audiences of 200,000 for only 10 dates. History The tour was directed by Streisand and Kenny Ortega and was originally set to be solely a Millennium concert with 2 concerts seeing in the 21st century. The dates were released in April and all tickets sold out within a few hours of going on sale. Following the success of the millennium concert, Barbra decided to take the tour on the road and visited Australia for the first time and included Melbourne and Sydney before heading back to America for 4 other concerts in Los Angeles and New York City.
