Miss Israel (also referred to as , , ) was a national beauty pageant in Israel. The pageant was founded in 1950, where the winners were sent to Miss Universe. Miss World 1998
Miss World 1998, the 48th edition of the Miss World pageant, was held on 26 November 1998 at the Lake Berjaya Mahé Resort in Mahé, Seychelles, Mahé Island, Seychelles. 86 delegates from around the world competed for the crown. Ronan Keating, then lead singer of Boyzone, and MTV's Eden Harel hosted the event. Yityish Titi Aynaw
Yityish "Titi" Aynaw (; ; born 23 June 1991) is an Israeli model, television personality, and beauty pageant titleholder who was crowned Miss Israel 2013. She is the first Ethiopian Jew and Israeli of African heritage to win the contest. As Miss Israel, Aynaw represented Israel at the Miss Universe 2013 competition, although she did not place. Early life and education Aynaw was born in Gondar Province in Ethiopia, to an Ethiopian-Jewish family belonging to the Beta Israel community. Elena Ralph (, ; born November 27, 1983) is an Israeli actress, model and beauty pageant titleholder who was crowned Miss Israel 2005 and represented her country at Miss Universe 2005 where placed Top 10. Ralph was born in Donetsk, Soviet Ukraine, to a family of engineers, a Christian father and a Jewish mother. Miriam Hadar Weingarten () is an Israeli-American lawyer, model and beauty pageant titleholder who was crowned Miss Israel 1958 and represented Israel at Miss Universe 1958. Michal Har'el
Michal Har'el (; née Herison; 1931 – 2 March 2012), was the second Miss Israel, a women's rights activist, and one of three lifetime honorary presidents of Women's International Zionist Organization. Biography Michal Herison (later Har'el) was a seventh generation Jerusalemite born to Zipporah Salomon and Osher Samuel Zelman Herison. She was a relative of Yoel Moshe Salomon. Har'el attended Evelina de Rothschild School in Jerusalem and David Yellin College of Education. She was described by The Jewish Daily Forward as a "stalwart defender of the City of David during the 1948 siege of Jerusalem." Har'el married Yitzhak Moda'i in 1953.
