Miss Earth Canada
Miss Earth Canada is a beauty pageant held annually in search of the most beautiful and environmental-friendly woman in Canada. It is the official preliminary to the Miss Earth pageant. The winners are chosen based on physical attributes and skills in speaking in public on environmental matters. History 2001–2002: Early years Canada was first represented by Michelle Carrie Lillian Weswaldi in the first edition of the Miss Earth pageant, Miss Earth 2001. In 2002, Canada was represented by Melanie Grace Bennett, of Vancouver, BC. Mixed ethnicity, Melanie is half Caucasian & Half Filipina. 2003–2018: Rosotro Productions In 2003 the Miss Earth Canada franchise was obtained by Rosotro Productions owned by Ronaldo Soriano Trono, and since 2004, a national contest in Montreal has been held each autumn to determine the winner. A beauty pageant is a competition in which the contestants are judged and ranked based on various physical and mental attributes. Per its name, beauty pageants traditionally focus on judging the contestants' physical attractiveness, sometimes solely so, but most modern beauty pageants have since expanded to also judge contestants based on "inner beauty"—their individual traits and characteristics, including personality, Human intelligence, intelligence, aptitude, moral character, and Charity (practice), charity. Jessica Trisko
Jessica Nicole Trisko Darden (née Trisko; born August 20, 1984) is a Canadian academic, activist, former model, and beauty queen. She is Assistant Professor of Political Science at Virginia Commonwealth University and Director of the Security and Foreign Policy Initiative at William & Mary’s Global Research Institute. She is also a Non-Resident Fellow with the Eurasia Group Foundation. After winning the Miss Earth Canada pageant, Trisko represented Canada at Miss Earth 2007 and became the first Canadian to win the Miss Earth title. She had previously placed in the top ten at Miss Universe Canada 2007. She was a guest judge in the final of the Miss Earth United States 2016 pageant in Washington, D.C. She studies the impact of foreign aid on repression and civil war. Miss Earth 2003 was the third edition of the Miss Earth pageant, held at the University of the Philippines Theater in Quezon City, Metro Manila, Philippines, on November 9, 2003. Winfred Omwakwe of Kenya crowned Dania Prince of Honduras as her successor the end of the event. Miss Earth 2002
Miss Earth 2002 was the second edition of the Miss Earth pageant, held at the Folk Arts Theater in Pasay, Philippines, on October 20, 2002. In its second year, 53 delegates participated, exceeding the number of contestants in Miss International 2002, thereby becoming the world's third biggest international pageant in terms of number of contestants. Džejla Glavović of Bosnia & Herzegovina won the title that year, also receiving Miss Talent. However, on May 28, 2003, the Miss Earth Foundation officially dethroned her "due to her failure to comply with the stipulations in her contract." Woodbridge is a very large suburban community in Vaughan, Ontario, Canada, along the city's border with Toronto.
