Miss Earth 2007
Miss Earth 2007, the seventh edition of the Miss Earth pageant, was held on November 12, 2007 at the University of the Philippines Theater, on campus of the University of the Philippines Diliman in Quezon City, Philippines. 88 delegates competed for the title, making 2007 the largest edition of delegates for Miss Earth. The pageant was hosted by MTV Asia VJ Utt Panichkul, Priscilla Meirelles and Ginger Conejero. Hil Hernández from Chile crowned her successor Jessica Trisko-Darden, Jessica Trisko from Canada the end of the event. Pooja Chitgopekar from India won her second consecutive Miss Air title. Silvana Santaella from Venezuela was announced as Miss Water. She also won two special awards: Best in Swimsuit and Best in Long Gown. Ángela Gómez from Spain finished fourth as Miss Fire. Jessica Trisko
Jessica Nicole Trisko Darden (née Trisko; born August 20, 1984) is a Canadian academic, activist, former model, and beauty queen. She is Assistant Professor of Political Science at Virginia Commonwealth University and Director of the Security and Foreign Policy Initiative at William & Mary’s Global Research Institute. She is also a Non-Resident Fellow with the Eurasia Group Foundation. After winning the Miss Earth Canada pageant, Trisko represented Canada at Miss Earth 2007 and became the first Canadian to win the Miss Earth title. Pooja Chitgopekar
Pooja Chitgopekar (born 1985) is an Indian doctor, model and beauty pageant titleholder who represented India in the international Miss Earth 2007 beauty pageant on 11 November and would later become Miss Earth Air in 2007. Miss Earth Air is Miss Earth's equivalent for first runner-up. She went to one of the top private schools, Diocesan School For Girls in Auckland. She won Miss India Earth, one of the three titles annually given by Femina India in Mumbai; the other two titles went to Puja Gupta Miss India Universe and Sarah Jane Dias Miss India World.
