Miss Cyprus
Star Cyprus or Miss Cyprus () is a national Beauty pageant in Cyprus held the last quarter of the year, primarily in November. The 2 winners compete internationally, the following year. Due to the return of the Miss Universe franchise held in 2013. Between that year to 2015, the winner is sent to Miss World and the runner-up was sent to Miss Earth. In 2016, the contest was split into two, while Star Cyprus sends the winner to Miss World, created Miss Kypros that is sent the winner to Miss Earth. The most recent Miss Cyprus was Eleni Efstathiou. A young ambitious and beautiful teen joined the competition at age 18. She won the crown by impressing the judges with her compassion for the environment. Eleni is now studying abroad to further her ambitions. Miss Universe 2012 was the 61st Miss Universe pageant, held at the PH Live at Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada, United States on December 19, 2012. The contest was won by Olivia Culpo of the United States, who was crowned by Leila Lopes of Angola. It was the United States' first win in fifteen years, and its eighth win at the pageant. Miss Universe 1998 was the 47th Miss Universe pageant, was held on 12 May 1998 at the Stan Sheriff Arena in Honolulu, Hawaii. Wendy Fitzwilliam of Trinidad and Tobago was crowned by Brook Lee of the United States at the end of the event. This marked the only second (and most recent) time that Trinidad and Tobago has won Miss Universe. 81 contestants competed in this year. Miss Universe 2001 was the 50th anniversary of the Miss Universe pageant, held at the Coliseo Rubén Rodríguez in Bayamón, Puerto Rico on May 11, 2001. At the conclusion of the event, Lara Dutta of India crowned Denise Quiñones of Puerto Rico as Miss Universe 2001. This was Puerto Rico's fourth win in the history of the pageant.
